WHEAT

- Nov 7 - Japan seeks 123,928 MT of food wheat for Dec-Feb shipments:

  • 9,455 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 14,940 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 32,715 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 35,157 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 31,661 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Nov 5 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Dec 15-25 shipment

- Nov 5 - Philippines importers bought about 35,000 MT of Australian feed wheat at 255-256 $/mt c&f for Dec 1-15 shipment

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Oct 31, recorded 293,360 MT, below expectations (450-700 TMT). Inspections for 2019/20 are running 22.1% ahead of year-ago

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Oct 24 totaled 493,800 MT for 2019/20, near the high end of market expectations (200-500 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 11% ahead of year-ago

- USDA said the US winter wheat plantings at 89% complete as of Nov 3, below expectations (91%), but above 5-year mean (88%) and the last-year score (83%). USDA rated 57% of the US winter wheat crop in good-to-excellent condition, up 1% point from prior week and ahead of analysts’ expectations of 56%, also better than last year’s 51%

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 19.64 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 4, 2019 vs. 13.741 MMT for the same period of last year, including 11.672 MMT of wheat (7.677 MMT a year ago), 4.391 MMT of corn (3.059 MMT) and 3.336 MMT of barley (2.753 MMT)   

- Ukrainian farms have sown as of Nov 5 a total of 6.875 million hectares of winter grains for the 2019 harvest, or 94.6% of the expected area of 7.3 million, incl. 5.859 million hectares of winter wheat and 894,700 hectares of winter barley

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange cut its forecast of Argentine 2019/20 wheat production to 18.8 MMT from 19.8 MMT previously (19 MMT in 2018/19)

CORN

- Nov 5 - South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 55,000 MT of Ukrainian corn from Posco at 212.65 $/mt c&f including a surcharge for additional port unloading for Dec 1-20 shipment

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Oct 31, reported 275,575 MT, below expectations (400-650 TMT). Inspections for 2019/20 are running 62.4% behind of year-ago

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended Oct 24 totaled 549,100 MT for 2019/20 within expectations (300-800 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 48% behind of year-ago

- USDA rated 58% of the US corn crop in good-to-excellent condition as of Nov 3, unchanged from prior week, in line with expectations, but down compared to 68% a year-ago. USDA estimated 52% of the US corn crop was harvested, behind of expectations (54%), below last year’s pace (74%) and the 5-year mean (75%)

- Informa Economics raised its US corn yield forecast by 1.1 bu to 168.6 bushels per acre (bpa), which results in a US corn crop estimate of 13.792 billion bu for 2019

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported October corn exports at 6.138 MMT, down from 6.501 MT in September but up vs. 3.105 MMT in the year-ago month

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 28.39 MMT of corn from 82.5% area with the average yield of 6.91 mt/ha as of Nov 5

- Russian farmers as of Nov 5 have harvested 11.6 MMT of corn from 1.9 million ha (75.1% of planted area) with the average yield of 5.97 mt/ha (4.84 mt/ha a year ago)

SOYBEAN

- Nov 11 - South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp seeks a total 120,000 MT of non-GM soybeans for arrival between December 2020 and August 2021

- Nov 1 - USDA announced export sales of 132,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2019/20

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Oct 31, reported 1,480,632 MT, near the upper end of trade expectations (900-1500 TMT). Inspections for the 2019/20 marketing year are running 10.8% ahead of year-ago

- Weekly US soybeans export sales data for week ended Oct 24 totaled 943,600 MT for 2019/20, within expectations (500-1100 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 10% behind of year-ago

- Weekly US soymeal export sales data for week ended Oct 24 of 179,500 MT, incl. 179,100 for 2019/20, within expectations (100-250 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 15% behind of year-ago

- USDA estimated 75% of the US soybean crop was harvested as of Nov 3, in line with expectations, but below last year’s pace (81%) and the 5-year mean (87%)

- Informa Economics lifted its US soybean yield forecast by 0.5 bu to 47 bpa, which results in a 3.553 billion-bu crop estimate

- USDA estimated US September 2019 soybean crush for crude oil at 4.87 million short tons, an 8.5% decrease from August and below the last year level (5.089 mln tons in Sept 2018), but ahead of average expectations of 4.854 million short tons. Crude soyoil stocks fell to 1.401 billion lbs as of Sept 30 from 1.439 billion lbs as of Aug 31, below the 1.648 bln lbs a year ago, while refined oil stocks were at 375.146 million lbs as of Sept 30 vs. 366.510 in Aug and 347.087 in Sept 2018. Sept US soy cake and meal stocks were at 360,387 tons vs. 384,874 in Aug and vs. 501,299 tons a year-ago

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported October soybean exports at 4.869 MMT, up from 4.448 MMT in September but down vs. 5.218 MMT a year ago. Also Brazil exported 1.392 MMT of soymeal in October versus 1.306 MMT the month before and 1.123 MMT a year ago; and 34,316 MT of soyoil compared to 81,896 MT in September and 79,196 MT a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 14.041 MMT of sunflowerseed from 98.2% area with the average yield of 2.44 mt/ha as of Nov 5

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 3.587 MMT of soybean from 98% area with the average yield of 2.32 mt/ha as of Nov 5

- Farmers in Russia harvested 14.1 MMT of sunflowerseed as of Nov 5, from 90% area with the average yield of 1.85 mt/ha (1.58 mt/ha a year ago)
