- Feb 19 - Egypt's GASC seeks wheat for March 15-25 shipment

- Feb 18 - Egypt's GASC canceled tender to buy US wheat for arrival on April 10-20 due to high prices. Only four offers were made:

  • Cargill: 60,000 tons of US soft red winter or US hard red winter, seller's option at 287 $/t c&f
  • Bunge: 60,000 tons of US soft red winter or US soft white winter seller's option at 299.87 $/t c&f
  • Ameropa: 55,000 tons of US soft red winter at 292.88 $/t c&f
  • Invivo: 55,000 tons of US soft white wheat at 336.46 $/t c&f

- Feb 19 - Japan bought 101,128 tons of food wheat for Mar-Apr shipment:

  • 20,903 tons of US western white wheat
  • 22,29 tons of US HRW wheat
  • 22,57 tons of US dark northern spring wheat
  • 35,365 tons of Australian standard white wheat

- Feb 18 - Algeria was seeking 50,000 tons of optional-origin milling wheat for June shipment

- Feb 15 - Egypt's GASC received bids for tender in Egyptian pounds for March 15-31 delivery. The results for the tender would be announced after one week:

  • Louis Dreyfus: 50 KMT of Russian wheat – 2137 EGP/t (~280 $/t)
  • White Flour: 10 KMT of Ukraine wheat – 2030 EGP/t (~266 $/t)
  • Al Wehda: 15 KMT of Ukraine wheat – 2000 EGP/t (~262 $/t), 25 KMT of Russian wheat – 2050 EGP/t (~269 $/t)
  • Alex Grain: 10 KMT of Russian wheat – 2180 EGP/t (~286 $/t)

- Feb 15 - Australian wheat was offered lowest at 279.70 $/t ciffo in Iraq's 50,000 tons of hard wheat tender for Mar-May shipment. The offers must remain valid up to Thursday, Feb 19

- Feb 15 - Lowest offers in Bangladesh wheat tender - 247.95 $/t CIF liner out for 50,000 tons of wheat, 10% protein, from Agrocorp and 263.25 $/t CIF liner out for 50,000 tons of wheat, 12.5% protein, from Glencore

- Bangladesh cancelled two tenders to import a total of 100,000 tons of wheat as bidders failed to comply with terms and conditions

- Feb 10 - Morocco's ONICL bought 171,600 tons of soft wheat in the local market

- Russia bought 354,760 tons of intervention grains between Sept 30, 2014 – Feb 18, 2015, including wheat – 149,580 tons, barley – 113,650 tons and rye – 91,530 tons

- Russia's Ag Min may review its wheat export tax once it gets export data for February

- SovEcon estimated Russia's Feb-Jun export at more than 2 MMT of wheat as traders have to fulfil previously agreed contracts despite recently imposed export curbs

- NOPA estimated U.S. monthly soy crush biggest ever for January at 162.675 MB vs.165.383 MB in December and 156.943 MB in January 2014

- NOPA estimated U.S. January soy oil stocks at 1.228 billion lbs vs. 1.068 billion lbs in December and 1.794 billion lbs in January 2014

- NOPA estimated U.S. January soybean meal exports at 1,012,383 short tons vs. 1,004,548 short tons in December and 787,961 short tons in January 2014

BARLEY

- Feb 18 - Jordan bought 100,000 tons of feed barley at 219.50 $/t c&f for Aug shipment

- Feb 18 - Japan bought 20,000 tons of feed wheat and 46,000 tons of feed barley via SBS tender for May shipment

- FranceAgriMer estimated France's 2014/15 barley ending stocks at 1.74 MMT vs. previous estimate of 1.49 MMT and vs. 1.04 MMT in 2013/14

RICE

- Thai Commerce Ministry expects to hold another tender for around 1 MMT of rice towards the end of February. Thailand sold 496,243 tons of rice an average price of around 485 $/t in its latest tender, Jan 29, half its offer.

Thailand exported around 10.8 million tonnes of rice in 2014, a record high

- Philippines ramps up rice buying to boost buffer stock. Plans to import 500,000 tons (250,000 tons of 25% broken and 250,000 tons of the 15% broken rice) for delivery before May through govt-to-govt deals. The National Food Authority (NFA) also plans to buy 189,845 tons of paddy rice from local farmers from January to June this year, the highest volume since 2010

- India's farm ministry estimated 2014/15 India's rice crop at 103.04 MMT vs. 106.65 MMT in 2013/14

- Malaysia has kept tax on exports of crude palm oil at zero for March
