The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Wednesday, August 18, bought 180,000 MT of wheat from Romania (120,000 MT) and from Ukraine (60,000 MT) for Oct 5-15 shipment:

  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Cofco at 329.42 $/mt c&f (294.99 fob+34.43 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Grain Export at 331.43 $/mt c&f (297.00 fob+34.43 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat from Nibulon at 333.89 $/mt c&f (297.95 fob+35.94 freight).

GASC has bought so far a total 1,605,000 MT of wheat (350,000 MT from Russia, 1020,000 MT from Romania, and 235,000 MT from Ukraine) for supply in 2021/22 (July-June)

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender:

  1. Cofco: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 294.99+34.43=329.42 $/mt c&f
  2. Grain Export: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 299.00+34.43=333.43 $/mt c&f
  3. Nibulon: 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat at 299.95+36.23=336.18 $/mt c&f
  4. LDC: 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat at 309.00+36.45=345.45 $/mt c&f
  5. GTCS: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 317.00+33.00=350.00 $/mt c&f
  6. ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 318.55+35.75=354.30 $/mt c&f
