- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 50.891 MMT of grain between July 1-May 4, 2019/20 vs. 42.897 MMT for the same period of last year, including 19.08 MMT of wheat (14.337 MMT a year ago), 26.423 MMT of corn (24.41 MMT) and 4.712 MMT of barley (3.408 MMT)

- European Commission (EC) raised forecast of EU+UK soft wheat exports by 1.8 MMT to 31.8 MMT in 2019/20 (21.461 MMT in 2018/19). It raised its outlook for EU-27 common wheat exports in 2020/21 to 28 MMT from 26.6 MMT previously

- Apr 24 - Saudi Arabia’s SAGO bought 655,000 MT of wheat (12.5% protein) of EU, North and South American (excl. Canadian), Australian and Black Sea origin at an average price of 233.33 $/mt c&f in 11 consignments for April-June shipment to the ports of Jeddah (360 TMT), Dammam (240 TMT) and Jizan (55 TMT):

    • 60,000 MT of hard wheat from Casillo at 242.98 $/mt c&f (July 10-20);
    • 60,000 MT of hard wheat from Holbud Limited at 236.65 $/mt c&f (July 20-30);

- Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO bought 60,000 MT of Ukraine wheat (11%-12% protein) from investment firm SALIC at 248 $/mt c&f for September shipment

- UN aid agency recently purchased around 20,000 MT of milling wheat, likely Ukrainian, for donation to Djibouti

- Apr 23 - Japan bought 115,059 MT of food wheat for June shipments:

  • 7,200 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 38,390 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 21,374 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 23,080 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 25,015 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Apr 23 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association bought 220,000 MT of US milling wheat in four consignments:

  • The first consignment has an additional charge of 20.33 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between June 14-28:
    • 32,540 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) from CHS at 245.79 $/mt fob;
    • 17,975 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) from United Grains at 236.83 $/mt fob;
    • 4,485 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) from CHS at 234.15 $/mt fob.
  • The second consignment was bought from Bunge and has an additional charge of 20.88 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between June 28-July 12:
    • 30,195 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 251.94 $/mt fob;
    • 20,440 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) at 242.57 $/mt fob;
    • 4,365 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 232.92 $/mt fob.
  • The third consignment has an additional charge of 21.75 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between July 12-26:
    • 30,645 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) from Columbia Grain at 248.27 $/mt fob;
    • 19,260 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) from CHS at 247.46 $/mt fob;
    • 5,095 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) from CHS at 234.15 $/mt fob.
  • The fourth consignment was bought from Bunge and has an additional charge of 22.68 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between July 27-August 10:
    • 29,535 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 251.94 $/mt fob;
    • 19,620 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) at 242.21 $/mt fob;
    • 5,845 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 228.60 $/mt fob

- Apr 21 - Jordan has made no purchase in an international tender for 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat for Oct-Nov shipment

CORN

- May 4 - USDA announced export sales of 115,800 MT of US corn for delivery to unknown destinations during 2019/20

- Apr 29 - Taiwan's MFIG bought 65,000 MT of Brazil corn from CHS at a premium of 103.9 USc/bushel c&f over the Chicago December corn contract (172 $/mt, c&f) for August-September shipment

- Apr 28 - South Korea Feed Association (KFA) bought 68,000 MT of South American corn from Cofco at 169.06 $/mt c&f for October 30 arrival

- Apr 27 - South Korea's Feed Leaders Committee (FLC) in a private deal purchased 65,000 MT of corn from CHS at 169.9 $/mt c&f + 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Oct 20 arrival

- Apr 24 - USDA announced export sales of 589,395 MT of US corn for delivery to Mexico during the 2019/20 (369,600 MT) and 2020/21 (219,795 MT)

- Apr 24 - South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 55,000 MT of South American corn from Glencore at 178.82 $/mt c&f for Aug 30 arrival

- Apr 22 - Jordan has made no purchase in an international tender for 120,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley for Nov shipment

- Apr 22 - South Korea's Major Feedmill Group (MFG) bought 138,000 MT of South American corn in private deals:

  • 69,000 MT from ADM at 170.55 $/mt c&f + 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for October 3 arrival;
  • 69,000 MT from Pan Ocean at 170.55 $/mt c&f + 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for November 10 arrival

- Apr 22 - South Korea Feed Association (KFA) bought 58,000 MT of South American corn from Glencore at 173.59 $/mt c&f including a surcharge for additional port unloading for October 25 arrival

- Apr 21 - South Korea's Nonghyup Feed Inc. (Nofi) bought 206,000 MT of South American corn:

  • 69,000 MT from Cargill at 173.45 $/mt c&f for September 20 arrival;
  • 69,000 MT from Cofco at 172.82 $/mt c&f for October 1 arrival;
  • 68,000 MT from Pan Ocean at 172.70 $/mt c&f for October 10 arrival     

- Apr 21 - South Korea's Feed Leaders Committee (FLC) in a private deal purchased 58,000 MT of South American corn from Glencore at 176.75 $/mt c&f for Oct 10 arrival

- EU in week ended April 10-17 awarded licenses to import 214,180 MT of Ukrainian corn under an annual duty-free quota.  The award meant that the EU had now awarded 100% out of a total volume of 1,225,000 MT available in 2020

- May 6 - Egypt's GASC seeks 10,000 MT optional-origin sunoil and 30,000 MT soyoil for July 10-30 arrival

- May 1 - USDA announced export sales of 264,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2019/20 (132,000 MT) and 2020/21 (132,000 MT)

- Apr 29 - USDA announced export sales of 108,860 MT of US soybeans for delivery to Mexico during 2019/20 (65,316 MT) and 2020/21 (43,544 MT)

- Apr 24 - USDA announced export sales of 261,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China (136,000 MT) during 2019/20 and to Mexico (125,000 MT) during 2019/20 (39,000 MT) and 2020/21 (86,000 MT)

- Apr 23 - USDA announced export sales of 272,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2019/20
