WHEAT

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Nov 21 totaled 612,700 MT for 2019/20, topped market expectations (300-600 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 8% ahead of year-ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 24.392 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 29, 2019 vs. 17.993 MMT for the same period of last year, including 13.288 MMT of wheat (9.128 MMT a year ago), 7.312 MMT of corn (5.502 MMT) and 3.485 MMT of barley (3.014 MMT)

- Ukrainian farms have sown as of Nov 29 a total of 7 million hectares of winter grains for the 2019 harvest, or 96% of the expected area of 7.3 million, incl. 5.933 million hectares of winter wheat and 919,200 hectares of winter barley

- Russia's Ag Min has downgraded its 2019 wheat crop forecast to 75 MMT from a previous estimate of 78 MMT

- European Commission (EC) trimmed its forecast of 2019 EU soft wheat crop to 146.792 MMT from 147.01 MMT previously (128.52 MMT last year). EU's executive forecasts EU soft wheat exports at 26 MMT in 2019/20, up from 21.433 MMT in 2018/19. Soft wheat inventories in the region are forecasted at 17.959 MMT by the end of June 2020, above 11.921 MMT estimated for 2018/19

- FranceAgriMer estimated winter wheat planting 80% done as of Nov 25, behind of last year’s pace of 99%. An estimated 75% of soft wheat was rated good or excellent in the week to Nov 25, down from 78% a week earlier and below an 82% score in the same week last year

- India's wheat production could jump to a second consecutive annual record in 2020 as the wettest monsoon in 25 years is set to help farmers in expanding the area under the winter-sown crop while also boosting yields

CORN

- Nov 28 - South Korea's Nonghyup Feed Inc. (Nofi) rejected all offers in tender to buy up to 69,000 MT of corn for March 25 arrival, citing on too high prices

- Ukrainian farmers have harvested 34.443 MMT of corn from 97.5% area with the average yield of 7.1 mt/ha as of Nov 29

- EC raised its forecast of 2019 EU corn harvest to 67.088 MMT from 66.58 MMT previously (69.076 MMT in 2018). EC kept its forecast of EU 2019/20 corn imports at 17 MMT (24.228 MMT in 2018/19). They forecast ending stocks at 22.187 MMT vs. 25.019 MMT in 2018/19

- EC lifted its forecast of 2019 EU barley harvest to 62.604 MMT from 62.416 MMT previously (56.003 MMT in 2018). EC forecasts EU 2019/20 barley exports at 9 MMT vs. 7.96 MMT in 2018/19 and ending stock at 9.187 MMT vs. 5.272 MMT current season

- FranceAgriMer estimated France’s corn condition as of Nov 25 as 57% in good to excellent, unchanged from prior week and in line with the year-ago score. French farmers harvested 92% of corn as of Nov 25 vs. 88% a week ago and 100% a year ago

- FranceAgriMer estimated winter barley planting 89% done as of Nov 25, behind of last year’s pace of 100%. An estimated 75% of barley was rated good or excellent in the week to Nov 25, down from 79% a week earlier and below a 76% score in the same week last year

- Domestic demand for corn is expected to grow 6% in Brazil in 2020 to 68 MMT, driven by increasing corn-ethanol production and buying from the meat industry

- China's commerce ministry expects imports of pork and pork by-products to exceed 3 MMT this year, while total meat imports will be more than 6 MMT

- Weekly US soymeal export sales data for week ended Nov 21 of 93,200 for 2019/20, within expectations (150-300 TMT). Export commitments for 2019/20 are running 15% behind of year-ago
