WHEAT

- Feb 26 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat

- Feb 21 - Japan seeks 92,830 MT of food wheat for Mar-Apr shipments:

  • 15,580 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 8,900 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 31,575 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 36,775 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat

- Feb 20 - Egypt's GASC bought 360,000 MT of wheat from France (180 TMT), Romania (60 TMT), Russia (60 TMT) and Ukraine (60 TMT) for April 5-15 shipment:

  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from ADM at 249.45 $/mt c&f (238.16 fob+11.29 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from ADM at 250.19 $/mt c&f (238.00 fob+12.19 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 250.70 $/mt c&f (237.50 fob+13.20 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Lecureur at 250.90 $/mt c&f (234.50 fob+16.40 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Soufflet at 250.90 $/mt c&f (234.50 fob+16.40 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Soufflet at 252.60 $/mt c&f (234.50 fob+18.10 freight)

- A tender to sell and export 250,000 MT of wheat from a state agency in Pakistan (PASSCO), closed on Feb 18, attracted offers with high prices equating to around 250 $/mt fob

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported about 31.3 MMT of grain between July 1-Feb 20, 2018/19 vs. 24.88 MMT for the same period of last season, including 12.3 MMT of wheat (13.4 MMT a year ago) and 15.1 MMT of corn (9 MMT)

- Ukrainian grain stocks were at 24.488 MMT as of February 1, up 10.1% from a year earlier, incl. 6.149 MMT of wheat (7.245 MMT a year ago), 1.22 MMT of barley (1.293 MMT a year ago) and 16.391 MMT of corn (12.269 MMT a year ago). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Japan's January grain imports fell 11.9% on year to 1.929 MMT, incl. 1.448 MMT from the US (up by 51.7%)

CORN

- Feb 20 - South Korea's KOCOPIA rejected all offers in tender to buy 55,000 MT of corn for May 5 arrival, citing on too high prices

- Feb 20 - Jordan bought 60,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley from Cofco at 207 $/mt c&f for shipment in the first half of July

- Feb 20 - Japan bought 220 MT of feed barley for July 25 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on February 27

- Japan's use of corn in animal feed totalled 48.4% in December 2018, up 0.6% point from prior month and by 1% point above year-ago level (47.4% in Dec 2017). Its use of barley steady at 3.4% vs. 3.5% a year ago; while wheat usage fell by 0.1% point from prior month to 1.7% (1.7% year-ago). Sorghum usage in feed rations fell by 0.1% point to 2.1%, in line with a year-ago level

SOYBEAN

- Japan's January soybean imports fell 0.4% on year to 234,228 MT, incl. 206,595 MT from the US (up by 3.7%)

- Ukrainian sunflower stocks were at 5.534 MMT as of December 1, up 9.3% from a year earlier (5.061 MMT). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's February 1-20 palm oil exports at 919,492 MT up 0.8% from a month ago

- Surveyor AmSpec Agri Malaysia estimated Malaysia's February 1-20 palm oil exports at 929,856 MT up 0.3% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's February 1-20 palm oil exports at 918,047 MT down 4.6% from a month ago
