- Feb 11 - Jordan Silos & Supply General Company seeks 25,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat, 11% protein, for March shipment

- Feb 10 - Bangladesh seeks 50,000 MT of optional origin milling wheat, 12.5% protein, for shipping within 40 days of the signing of the contract

- Jan 30 - Turkey's TMO seeks 300,000 MT of red milling wheat (40x7.5 TMT) for Feb 6-25 and March 1-15 shipment

- Jan 29 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat for Apr-May shipment

- Jan 24 - Algeria's OAIC seeks at least 50,000 MT of optional-origin durum wheat for Feb 16-28 or March 1-15 shipment. Offers must remain valid until Jan 25

- Jan 24 - Japan seeks 102,057 MT of food wheat for Feb-Mar shipments:

  • 13,405 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 28,020 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 11,770 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 24,302 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 24,560 MT of Australian standard white wheat

- Jan 23 - Tunisia's state grains agency bought 100,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat for Feb 15-March 25 shipment:

  • 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Dreyfus at 259.22 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Lecureur at 259.25 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Dreyfus at 260.22 $/mt c&f;
  • 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Olam at 260.11 $/mt c&f

- China is considering purchasing 3-7 MMT of US wheat depending on the progress of trade talks

- China imported 240,000 MT of wheat in December, up 14% from the year before. China's wheat imports for all of 2018 fell by 29.9% on year to 3.1 MMT

- Japan's December grain imports rose 7.8% on year to 2.119 MMT, incl. 1.586 MMT from the US (up by 149.8%)

- Egypt, the world's largest wheat buyer, has secured $1 billion of a $3 billion Islamic Trade Finance Corporation deal to fund purchases by its state grain agency (GASC)

CORN

- Jan 23 - Taiwan's MFIG bought 65,000 MT of Argentine corn at a premium of 139.7 USc/bushel c&f over the Chicago July contract (210.6 USD/mt, c&f) for Apr 11-30 shipment

- Jan 23 - Tunisia's state grains agency bought 50,000 MT (2x25 TMT) of optional-origin feed barley from Glencore at 245.69 and 246.29 $/mt c&f for Feb 25-March 25 shipment

- Jan 23 - Jordan bought 60,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley from Glencore at 223.2 $/mt c&f for shipment in the second half of June

- Jan 23 - Japan bought 185 MT of feed barley for Mar 14 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on January 30

- Jan 22 - Iran's SLAL bought 60,000 MT of barley for March-April shipment

- Jan 22 - Iran's SLAL bought 60,000 MT of corn

- China's corn imports in December came to 420,000 MT, down 8.2% from the same month of 2017. Full-year 2018 imports were up 24.7% at 3.52 MMT

- China imported no sorghum in December, compared with 157,834 MT a year earlier. China's imports for 2018 fell to 3.65 MMT, down 27.8% on the year

- China imported 140,000 MT of barley in December, down 75.4% from the year before. China's barley imports for all of 2018 fell by 23.1% on year to 6.82 MMT

SOYBEAN

- Chicago soybean futures edged higher as traders assessed the risk of further yield losses due to dry conditions in Brazil while monitoring US-China trade talks for signs of any fresh export deals

- Japan's December soybean imports rose 26% on year to 233,995 MT, incl. 207,413 MT from the US (up by 29.3%)
