WHEAT

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Dec 6, recorded 418,460 MT, within trade expectations (350-600 TMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 16.2% behind of year-ago

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported 25 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 6, 2018/19, up 7.8% from 23.2 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 21.1 MMT (up 16.9% from year ago);
  • barley – 2.8 MMT (down by 13.2%);
  • corn – 939,000 MT (twice down)

- Russia has 3,149,400 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of Dec 7 vs. 3,967,600 MT year ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 9, 2018/19 exported 7.303 MMT of soft wheat compared to 9.491 MMT a year ago

- France exported 1.13 MMT of soft wheat in October, the fourth month of the 2018/19 marketing season, including 625,000 MT of soft wheat shipped outside the EU (incl. 480 TMT to Algeria). Cumulative French soft wheat exports in July-October reached 5.05 MMT, up 8% from the same period last year. Shipments outside the EU were up 38% at 2.8 MMT, of which 2.27 MMT, or 81%, to Algeria

CORN

- Dec 10 - USDA announced export sales of 1,645,920 MT of US corn for delivery to Mexico during 2018/19 (1,104,900 MT) and 2019/20 (541,020 MT)

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Dec 6, reported 876,305 MT, within market expectations (0.85-1.2 MMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 75.6% ahead of year-ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 9, 2018/19 imported 9.095 MMT of corn (maize) vs. 6.643 MMT a year ago

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 9, 2018/19 exported 801,494 MT of corn vs. 615,491 MT a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Dec 10 - USDA announced export sales of 125,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to unknown destinations during 2019/20

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Dec 6, reported 922,094 MT, within trade estimates (700-1100 TMT). Inspections for the 2018/19 marketing year are running 41,2% behind of year-ago

- China imported 5.38 MMT of soybeans in November, down 22.2% from 6.92 MMT in October and down 38% from the year before. China's soybean imports in the first eleven months of the year fell 4.3% to 82.31 MMT

- China's imports of all vegetable oils in November was 622,000 MT, up 32.3% from 470,000 MT in October and up 15.2% vs. 540,000 MT year ago. China's Jan-Nov vegetable oil imports rose 7.4% on year to 5.548 MMT

- EU this season in period of July 1-Dec 9, 2018/19 imported 5.884 MMT of soybeans vs. 5.479 MMT a year ago

- MPOB estimated Malaysian crude palm oil production in November at 1.845 MMT, behind average expectation of 1.923 MMT and down 6% from 1.965 MMT in October. Malaysia's palm oil stocks at end-November rose 10.5% from the previous month to 3.007 MMT, the highest in at least 18 years, but below the average market expectation of 3.016 MMT. Malaysian November palm oil exports fell by 12.9% to 1.375 MMT, also below average expectation of 1.405 MMT

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's December 1-10 palm oil exports at 308,207 MT down 0.8% from a month ago

- Surveyor AmSpec Agri Malaysia estimated Malaysia's December 1-10 palm oil exports at 299,527 MT down 2.5% from a month ago
