WHEAT

- Aug 28 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Oct 11-20 shipments

- Aug 28 - China auctioned 3,500 MT of imported 2013 wheat from state reserves, or 0.2% of the offered amount at average price of 2,393 RMB/mt (348 $/mt)

- Aug 27 - China auctioned 5,631 MT of imported 2013 wheat from state reserves, or 0.3% of the offered amount at average price of 2,379 RMB/mt (346 $/mt)

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Aug 23, recorded 488,187 MT, near the high end of trade expectations (300-500 TMT). Inspections for 2018/19 are running 35.1% behind of year-ago

- USDA said the US spring wheat harvest was 77% complete by Aug 26, slightly behind of average expectation of 78%, but ahead of 5-year mean (61%) and up vs. last year pace (73%)

- MARS lowered its yield forecast for this year's EU soft wheat to 5.7 mt/ha from 5.82 mt/ha prior month, down 6.7% from last year and 4.5% below the five-year mean

- South Africa's Crop Estimates Committee (CEC) in its first forecast expects winter wheat production this year at 1.808 MMT, up 17.8% over the previous season’s crop of 1,535 MMT

- SAGIS estimated S. Africa's July wheat imports at 184,984 MT vs. 271,800 MT in June. Oct-Jul 2017/18 imports rose 159% on year to 1.755 MMT

CORN

- Aug 28 - Jordan bought 60,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley from Bunge at 263 $/mt c&f for Oct 1-15 shipment

- Aug 27 - Argentina registered 100,000 MT of corn for export

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Aug 23, reported 1,245,130 MT, near the high end of market expectations (0.9-1.25 MMT). Inspections for 2017/18 are running 0.5% ahead of year-ago

- USDA rated 68% of the country’s corn in good or excellent condition as of Aug 26, unchanged from prior week and matching market expectations, but better than last year’s 62%

- MARS lowered its yield forecast for this year's EU corn to 7.57 mt/ha from 7.64 mt/ha last month, down 3.9% from last year but 3.6% above the five-year average

- MARS trimmed its yield estimate for this year's EU barley (winter and spring) to 4.71 mt/ha from 4.74 mt/ha last month, down 3.8% from last year and 4% below the five-year mean

- IKAR lowered its 2018 Russian corn crop outlook to 11.7 MMT from 11.8 MMT previously

- Aug 29 - Egypt's GASC seeks 10,000 MT optional-origin sunoil and 30,000 MT soyoil for Oct 1-15 arrival

- Aug 28 - USDA announced export sales of 198,862 MT of US soybean cake and meal for delivery to Mexico during 2018/19 (146,781 MT) and 2019/20 (52,081 MT)

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Aug 23, reported 901,620 MT, topped trade estimates (500-850 TMT). Inspections for the 2017/18 marketing year are running 2.9% behind of year-ago

- USDA rated 66% of the country’s soybeans in good or excellent condition as of Aug 26, up 1% point from prior week and slightly ahead analyst expectations (65%), also better than last year’s 61%

- MARS cut its yield forecast for this year's EU rapeseed to 2.87 mt/ha from 2.89 mt/ha last month, down 13% from 2017 and 13% below the 5-year average
