WHEAT

- Jul 24 - Bahrain seeks 25,000 MT of optional-origin wheat

- Jul 19 - Japan bought 57,914 MT of food wheat for September shipments:

  • 15,433 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 13,146 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 29,335 MT of hard red winter US wheat

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 891,000 MT of grain between July 1-16 2018/19 vs. 1.25 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 278 TMT (194 TMT a year ago);
  • corn – 344 TMT (689 TMT);
  • barley – 269 TMT (370 TMT)

- Ukrainian farmers have threshed 12.5 MMT of winter wheat from 60% of planned area with the average yield of 3.31 mt/ha as of July 18

- Ukrainian grain stocks were at 9.176 MMT as of July 1, up 35% from a year earlier, incl. 3.573 MMT of wheat (2.249 MMT a year ago), 1.757 MMT of barley (1.233 MMT a year ago) and 3.319 MMT of corn (2.918 MMT a year ago). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 72,700 MT of wheat via port Varna between July 2-15, 2018, up 164.4% from a year-ago (27,500 MT)

- Bulgaria's July-April 2017/18 wheat exports are estimated at 4.375 MMT, up 7.5% from year-ago

- Japan's June grain imports fell 3.9% on year to 2.124 MMT, incl. 1.642 MMT from the US (down by 9%)

- AOS and Union were removed from the list of approved GASC suppliers

CORN

- Jul 24 - Jordan seeks 120,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley for Oct-Nov shipment

- Jul 19 - China sold 1,109,605 MT of corn from state reserves, or 27.7% of the offered amount, at average price of 1,541 RMB/mt (229 $/mt)

- Jul 18 - South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 60,000 MT of corn, likely from the US, from Daewoo at 211.47 $/mt c&f including a surcharge for additional port unloading for Nov 20 arrival

- Jul 18 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. New SBS tender for the same amounts for each grain will be held on Jul 25

- Jul 17 - Argentina registered 100,354 MT of corn for export

- German association of farmers DBV cut its forecast of country’s 2018 winter barley harvest to 7.3 MMT from 8.05 MMT previously (9.019 MMT in 2017)

- Ukrainian farmers have threshed 2.8 MMT of winter barley from 97% of planned area with the average yield of 3.51 mt/ha as of July 18. They also harvested 855,400 MT of spring barley from 29% of planned area with the average yield of 1.94 mt/ha

- Ukrainian farmers have threshed 465,000 MT of peas from 68% of planned area with the average yield of 1.62 mt/ha as of July 18

- Bulgaria's Sept-April 2017/18 corn exports are estimated at 1.211 MMT, up around 40% from year-ago

- Bulgaria's July-April 2017/18 barley exports are estimated at 350.6 TMT, up 24.6% from year-ago

- India's pulses imports could fall nearly 80% to 1.2 MMT during the financial year of 2018/19 that started in April (5.68 MMT in 2017/18), the lowest since 2000/01 after the government raised import taxes. India has raised the import tax on some pulses to as high as 50% and fixed quotas for others like yellow peas, green gram and chickpeas

- Ukraine's state grain firm GPZKU doubled its grain exports to China to around 1.0 MMT in 2017/18. Additional 1.2 MMT were exported to other destinations, including the EU, north Africa and Asia

SOYBEAN

- Jul 18 - USDA announced export sales of 199,500 MT of US soybeans for delivery to Pakistan during 2018/19

- Jul 18 - China sold 140,068 MT of 2013 soybeans from state reserves, or 28.3% of the offered amount, at average price of 2,993 RMB/mt (447 $/mt)

- Jul 18 - Argentina registered 108,870 MT of soybean oil for export

- Jul 17 - Argentina registered 272,911 MT of soymeal for export

- Japan's June soybean imports rose 1.9% on year to 281,431 MT, incl. 157,467 MT from the US (up by 6.2%)

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 2 MMT of winter rapeseed from 84% of planned area as of July 18, yields totalled 2.54 mt/ha

- Ukrainian sunflower stocks were at 1.125 MMT as of July 1, down 12% from a year earlier (1.274 MMT). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Russia produced 2.4 MMT of sunflower oil during first six months of 2018, up 2.1% from the same period last year

- Bulgaria's Sep-April 2017/18 sunflower exports are estimated at 684,500 MT, up around 40% from year-ago score

- Bulgaria's July-April 2017/18 rapeseed exports are estimated at 423,900 MT, down 13.3% from year-ago
