- Feb 20 - Algeria’s OAIC seeks at least 50,000 MT of soft wheat for shipment in April-May

- Pakistan has sold for export around 750,000 MT of wheat since the export subsidy scheme started in January with a price range of around 188-200 $/mt fob for Feb-Apr shipment. Destinations include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, East Africa, Vietnam, Malaysia, the UAE and Afghanistan. Pakistani wheat, 12.5% protein, in bulk, was offered at around 201-203 $/mt fob last week

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported about 32.524 MMT of grain between July 1-Feb 14, 2017/18, up by 38.7% from 23.454 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 25.428 MMT (18.254 MMT in 2016/17);
  • barley – 3.934 MMT (2.003 MMT);
  • corn – 2.933 MMT (3.027 MMT)

- Russia has 3,966,700 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of Feb 16

- Russian grain stocks were at 42.194 MMT as of Feb 1, 2018, up 18.7% from a year earlier (35.554 MMT as of Feb 1, 2017). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Ukrainian grain stocks were at 22.249 MMT as of Feb 1, up 0.8% from a year earlier, incl. 7.245 MMT of wheat (6.986 MMT a year ago), 1.293 MMT of barley (1.72 MT a year ago) and 12.269 MMT of corn (12.237 MMT a year ago). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Kazakh Ag Min said Kazakhstan exported 6.186 MMT of grain between July 1-Jan 31, 2017/18 vs. 5.009 MMT a year ago, incl. flour – 2.109 MMT in wheat equivalent vs. 1.836 MMT in the same period of 2016/17

- Informa Economics lowered its forecast of US 2018 winter wheat production to 1.231 billion bushels, from a Jan figure of 1.292 billion

- FranceAgriMer said 84% of France’s soft wheat crops were in good to excellent condition as of Feb 11, unchanged from week prior and vs. 92% a year ago; durum rating at 81% in good to excellent vs. 81% a week-ago and vs. 85% a year-ago

- Egypt will set its local buying price for wheat in March, one month ahead of the harvest

- Japan's January grain imports rose 12.5% on year to 2.189 MMT, incl. 954,308 MT from the US (down by 19.3%)


Feb 16 - USDA announced export sales of 28,000 MT of US soybean oil for delivery to South Korea during 2017/18

- Informa Economics left its forecast for 2018 US soybean plantings at 91.197 million acres

- AgRural estimates 17% of Brazilian soybean crop has been harvested as of Feb 15 vs. 26% a year ago

- Safras & Mercado expects Brazil's soybean production to rise by 1.2% in the 2017/18 crop cycle to a record 115.6 MMT compared with Safras estimate of 114.2 MMT in 2016/17

- Japan's January soybean imports rose 20% on year to 235,209 MT, incl. 199,225 MT from the US (up by 15%)

- Russia produced 428 TMT of sunflower oil in January, down 12.3% from December and down 4.4% from January 2017

- Ukrainian sunflower stocks were at 5.061 MMT as of Feb 1, down 7% from a year earlier (5.439 MMT). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's February 1-20 palm oil exports at 791,992 MT up 8.8% from a month ago
