- Feb 20 - Jordan again seeks 100,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat

- Feb 15 - Iraq bought 150,000 MT of hard wheat from the US, Canada and Australia. The tender closed on Feb 11 and offers remained valid up to Feb 15

- Feb 15 - Japan bought 84,683 MT of food wheat for Mar-Apr shipments:

  • 15,135 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 18,648 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 26,680 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 24,220 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat

- Feb 15 - Argentina registered 76,193 MT of wheat for export

- Feb 15 - Jordan Silos & Supply General Company made no purchase in a tender for 50,000 MT of milling wheat for March shipment

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Feb 8 totalled 421,900 MT, incl. 311,100 MT for 2017/18 (within trade expectations of 200-450 TMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 12% behind of year-ago

- According to TAXUD, the EU this season in period of July 1-Feb 13, 2017/18 exported 12.838 MMT of soft wheat compared to 15.858 MMT a year ago

- Strategie Grains lowered its monthly forecast for EU soft wheat exports this season to 21.4 MMT, down 300,000 MT from last month and 2.7 MMT below last season (24.1 MMT in 2016/17). Strategie Grains upped its EU 2018 soft wheat crop forecast from 141.6 to 141.7 MMT

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 1.5 MMT of wheat via port Varna between July 3-Feb 11, 2017/18, up 5.1% from a year-ago (1.428 MMT)

- Bulgaria's July-November 2017 wheat exports are estimated at 3.023 MMT, up 2.6% from year-ago

- Bunge Ltd reported a loss for the fourth quarter compared with a year-ago profit, hurt by tax law changes and lower margins in its grains business

VEGETABLE OILS

- Weekly US soybeans export sales data for week ended Feb 8 of 837,500 MT, incl. 640,400 MT for 2017/18 (within expectations of 450-750 TMT). Export commitments for 2017/18 are running 13% behind of year-ago

- NOPA said its members crushed 163.11 million bushels of soybeans during January, below the lower end of trade expectations (165.511 million bu – avg., 163.5-167.443 mln bu – range). NOPA processors crashed 166.305 mln bu in December and 160.621 mln bu a year ago. Soyoil stocks climbed to 1.728 billion lbs as of Jan 31 from 1.518 a month earlier and vs. last year’s level of 1.655 billion lbs, above the average expectations of 1.603 billion lbs. Soymeal exports decreased to 860,416 tons from 921,726 tons in December and vs. 891,143 tons a year-ago
