WHEAT

- Jan 22 - Argentina registered 60,590 MT of wheat for export

CORN

- Jan 22 - Argentina registered 51,288 MT of corn for export

- Three South Korean buyers purchased a total of about 255,000 MT of the US or South American corn in a series of separate deals last week:

  • Feed Leaders' Committee (FLC) purchased 65,000 MT from Cargill at 193.99 $/mt c&f for Apr 30 arrival;
  • Korea Feed Association (KFA) bought 60,000 MT at 196.7 $/mt c&f for May 1 arrival;
  • Major Feedmill Group (MFG) purchased 130,000 MT from Pan Ocean in two equal consignments at 193.67 $/mt c&f and 193.55 $/mt c&f plus a 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for late April, early May arrival

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Jan 18, reported 668,946 MT, below market expectations. Inspections for 2017/18 are running 36.0% behind of year-ago

- Zambia's maize production may drop around 50% in the current 2017/18 crop season if a dry spell which the nation is experiencing continues into next month. In 2016/17 the country harvested 3.61 MMT of corn. Zambia's maize production season runs from October-November when the planting is done to March-April when the crop is ready for harvesting

- China 2017 animal feed output rose 5.3% year on year to 284.66 MMT, said the National Bureau of Statistics

SOYBEAN

- Jan 23 - Egypt's GASC seeks 10,000 MT optional-origin sunoil and 30,000 MT soyoil for Mar 5-20 delivery

- Jan 22 - Argentina registered 45,000 MT of soymeal for export

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Jan 18, reported 1,419,430 MT, topped trade estimates. Inspections for the 2017/18 marketing year are running 13.2% behind of year-ago

- Argentine December soybean crush was reported at 2.18 MMT, down 35% from 3.35 MMT in November and down 36% from last year

- Argentine December sunflower crush was reported at 108,216 MT, up from 107,100 MT in November but down 22.5% from last year

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's January 1-20 palm oil exports at 727,958 MT down 16.7% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's January 1-20 palm oil exports at 744,706 MT down 13.9% from a month ago
