WHEAT

- Nov 5 - Iraq seeks at least 50,000 MT of hard wheat from the US, Canada or Australia. The tender closes on Nov 5 and offers must remain valid up to Nov 12

- Nov 1 - Japan bought 14,505 MT of feed grain (14,300 MT of wheat and 205 MT of barley) for February 28, 2018, arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on Nov 8

- Oct 31 - USDA announced export sales of 100,000 MT of US hard red winter wheat for delivery to Iraq during 2017/18

- Oct 31 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association bought 86,000 MT of US milling wheat from CHS in two consignments:

  • The first consignment has an additional charge of 33.89 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between Dec 13-27:
    • 24,950 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 288.89 $/mt fob;
    • 11,100 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) at 235.28 $/mt fob;
    • 7,650 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 203.44 $/mt fob.
  • The second consignment has an additional charge of 34.79 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between Dec 30-Jan 13:
    • 24,050 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 288.89 $/mt fob;
    • 12,150 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) at 235.28 $/mt fob;
    • 6,100 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 203.44 $/mt fob

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 13.506 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 1, 2017/18 vs. 14,336 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 8.169 MMT (vs. 8.67 MMT a year ago);
  • corn – 1.733 MMT (1.935 MMT);
  • barley – 3.568 MMT (3.683 MMT)

- Ukrainian farmers as of Nov 1 have sown 5.9 million hectares (96% of plan) for the 2018 wheat harvest, up from 5.7 mln ha at the same date a year earlier

- Argentina in October registered for export 1.139 MMT of wheat and 48,867 MT of wheat flour

- Bunge Ltd reported flat revenues for the 3Q at $11.42 billion, net income during the period was $84 million, or 59 cents per share. In the year earlier quarter net income was $116 million or 83 cents per share.

- ADM reported revenue during the 3Q was $14.8 billion down from the previous $15.8; net income was $192 million compared to the $341 mln in the year ago quarter. Earnings on per share basis were 34 cents compared to the 58 cents in the year earlier period

CORN

- Nov 1 - South Korea's Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) bought 134,000 MT of optional-origin corn in two consignments:

  • 67 TMT of corn from Pan Ocean at 186.25 $/mt c&f + 1.00 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Feb 25, 2018 arrival;
  • 67 TMT of corn from ADM at 185.26 $/mt c&f + 1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Mar 5, 2018 arrival

- Nov 1 - South Korea’s Major Feedmill Group (MFG) bought 129,000 MT of optional-origin corn at 187.3 $/mt c&f for Feb 25 arrival

- Nov 1 - South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 60,000 MT of yellow corn, likely from the US, at 192.90 $/mt c&f including surcharge for additional port unloading for Feb 15 arrival

- Nov 1 - Jordan bought 100,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley at 232 $/mt c&f from Ameropa (50 TMT) and Bunge (50 TMT) for Jan 1-15 shipment

- Algeria seeks 65,000 MT of EU/Black sea barley for Nov 15-30 shipment

- Oct 31 - Argentina registered 143,200 MT of corn for export

- Argentina in October registered 2.488 MMT of corn for export

- Argentina in October registered for export 11,000 MT of feed barley, 65,210 MT of malting barley and 68,640 MT of malt

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported October corn exports at 5.028 MMT, down from 5.914 MMT in September but well above the 1.102 MMT in the year-ago month

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported October ethanol exports at 152.9 million litres, up from 144.4 mln litres in September and up from 66.0 mln litres last October

- Ukrainian farmers as of Nov 1 harvested 13.3 MMT of maize from 61% of the planned area with yields at 4.84 mt/ha (15.8 MMT and 5.94 mt/ha at the same date in 2016)

- Ukrainian farmers as of Nov 1 have sown 796,000 hectares (86% of plan) for the 2018 barley harvest, up vs. 772,000 ha at the same date a year earlier

- US Ethanol production for the week ended Oct 27 rose by 17,000 barrels to 1,056,000 barrels per day, up 3.3% from last year's level of 1,022,000 bpd. Stocks climbed by 440,000 barrels from the week prior to 21.474 million barrels, up 8.8% vs. 19.739 million barrels a year ago

- EIA estimated US ethanol production for August at 32.447 million barrels versus 31.221 million barrels in July and vs. 31.856 million barrels a year ago

- EIA reported August ethanol inventory at 21.197 million barrels, which is up 0.2% from July and in line with last year

- US corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 500 million bushels in Sept 2017, down 8% from Aug 2017 but up 3% from Sept 2016

- US dry mill co-product production of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGs) was 1.85 million tons during Sept 2017, down 10% from Aug 2017 and down 6% from Sept 2016

- US wet mill corn gluten feed production was 322 thousand tons during Sept 2017, down 13% from Aug 2017 and down 1% from Sept 2016

SOYBEAN

- Nov 1 - Argentina registered 17,570 MT of sunflower meal for export

- Oct 31 - Argentina registered 69,700 MT of soymeal for export

- Argentina in October registered for export 87,654 MT of soybeans, 984,815 MT of soymeal and 306,863 MT of soybean oil

- Argentina in October registered for export 40,573 MT of sunflower oil and 36,824 MT of sunflower meal

- USDA estimated US September soybean crush for crude oil at 4.361 million short tons, a 4.1% decrease from August, matching the average market expectation (4.361 mln tons, or 145.4 mln bu, 144.2-147 – range), but above last year level (4.148 mln tons in Sept 2016). Crude soyoil stocks fell to 1.401 billion lbs as of Sept 30 from 1.483 in Aug, below the 1.417 bln lbs a year ago, while refined oil stocks were at 310,036 million lbs as of Sept 30 vs. 327.310 in Aug and 269.413 in Sept 2016. Sept US soy cake and meal stocks rose to 353,758 tons from 290,921 in Aug and vs. 233,715 tons a year-ago

- Brazil’s Trade Ministry reported October soybean exports at 2.487 MMT, down from 4.272 MT in September but above the 998,192 MT a year ago. Also Brazil exported 1.276 MMT of soymeal in October versus 1.163 MMT the month before and 724,671 MT a year ago; and 115,602 MT of soyoil compared to 10,444 MT in September and 9,792 MT a year ago

- EIA said US August biodiesel production at 149 million gallons vs. 149 million gallons in July and vs. 142 million gallons a year ago

- EIA said 608 million lbs. of soybean oil used for biodiesel in August (53% of feedstock used to produce biodiesel) vs. 606 million lbs. in July and vs. 561 million lbs. a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have completed winter rape sowing at 853,000 hectares as of Nov 1, versus 798,000 ha at the same date in 2016
