WHEAT

- Sept 5 - China sold 14,390 MT of wheat from state reserves or 0.7% of the offered amount (1,963,188 MT) at auction at average price of 2,281 RMB/mt (349 $/mt)

- Sept 5 - China auctioned 5,180 MT of imported wheat from state reserves, or 3.6% of the offered amount (142,123 MT) at average price of 2,521 RMB/mt (386 $/mt)

- State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said the country exported 7.07 MMT of grain between July 1-Sept 1, 2017/18 vs. 7.2 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 3.77 MMT (vs. 4.27 MMT a year ago);
  • corn – 1.1 MMT (0.5 MMT);
  • barley – 2.06 MMT (2.37 MMT)

- Kazakh farmers harvested 9.634 MMT of all grains as of September 5, up over 9.0 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.27 mt/ha down from 1.48 mt/ha a year ago

CORN

- Sept 5 - USDA announced export sales of 143,650 MT of US corn for delivery to Mexico during 2017/18

- Sept 4 - Argentina registered 232,785 MT of corn for export

SOYBEAN

- Sept 5 - USDA announced export sales of 136,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2017/18

- Sept 4 - Argentina registered 50,000 MT of soymeal for export

- Strategie Grains cut its 2017 EU rapeseed crop forecast to 21.65 MMT from 21.91 MMT previously, mainly due to harvest results in Germany, but up 6.7% from the 2016 harvest (20.3 MMT)

- Strategie Grains raised its 2017 EU sunflower crop forecast to 8.68 MMT from 8.5 MMT in August, up 5.1% from the 2016 harvest (8.26 MMT)

- Strategie Grains trimmed its 2017 EU soybean crop forecast to 2.58 MMT from 2.62 MMT last month, up 4.6% from the 2016 harvest (2.47 MMT)

- Russia produced 2.7 MMT of sunflower oil during the first seven months of 2017, up 20.9% from the same period last year

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's August 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,259,240 MT down 0.1% from a month ago
