WHEAT

- July 25 - Egypt's GASC bought 420,000 MT of wheat from Russia (300 TMT), Romania (60 TMT) and Ukraine (60 TMT) for September 1-10 shipment:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from ADM at 218.35 $/mt c&f (202.35 fob+16 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Cofco at 218.38 $/mt c&f (204.99 fob+13.39 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from GTCS at 219.03 $/mt c&f (204.65 fob+14.38 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from AOS at 219.05 $/mt c&f (204.4 fob+14.65 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 219.3 $/mt c&f (204.65 fob+14.65 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from GTCS at 219.35 $/mt c&f (204.65 fob+14.7 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 220.35 $/mt c&f (203.9 fob+16.45 freight)

- July 25 - China sold 5,051 MT of wheat from state reserves or 0.2% of the offered amount (3,041,454 MT) at auction at average price of 2,468 RMB/mt (366 $/mt)

- July 25 - China failed to sell imported wheat from state reserves; at the auction was offered 125,029 MT

- Russia's Ag Min hopes to receive government permission to export some of its grain stockpile in September. The Ag Min is seeking permission to export 532,800 MT of grain built up from 2008-2013

- Russian farmers harvested 25.86 MMT of wheat from 20.5% of the planned area as of July 25, down from 29.77 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.5 mt/ha up from 4.16 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 533,700 MT of all grains as of July 26, down from 643,600 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.82 mt/ha up from 2.13 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 13.5 MMT of wheat from 57% of the planned area as of July 25, down from 15.4 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.74 mt/ha versus 3.92 mt/ha a year ago

- Cereals (durum wheat, soft wheat, etc.), semolina and flour were imported in Algeria during first half of 2017 for $1.47 billion, up from $1.39 billion in the same period last year

CORN

- July 26 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. New SBS tender for the same amounts for each grain will be held on Aug 2

- July 25 - Argentina registered 280,000 MT of corn for export

- July 24 - Argentina registered 33,345 MT of corn for export

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier lowered his US corn yield projection by 1.5 bushel per acre (bpa) from last week to 163.5 bpa

- SAGIS estimated South Africa's corn stocks as of June 30 were at 7.335 MMT vs. 2.543 MMT a month ago and 4.041 MMT a year ago

- SAGIS estimated S. Africa's June corn exports at 385,701 MT. May-June exports rose 171.3% on year to 460,655 MT

- SAGIS said that S. Africa didn’t import any corn in May-June 2017 compared to the 282,299 MT imported in May-June 2016

- China imported 324,301 MT of sorghum in June, down 45.6% from a year-ago. China's Jan-June sorghum imports fell 26.1% on year to 2.99 MMT

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 5.5 MMT of barley from 67% of the planned area as of July 25, down from 7.1 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.21 mt/ha down from 3.26 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 858 TMT of peas from 84% of the planned area as of July 25, up from 658 TMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.51 mt/ha versus 3.17 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 3.44 MMT of barley from 11.2% of the planned area as of July 25, down from 3.77 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.82 mt/ha up from 3.49 mt/ha a year ago

SOYBEAN

- July 25 - Argentina registered 30,000 MT of soymeal for export

- July 24 - Argentina registered for export 17,625 MT of soymeal, 9,575 MT of soybean oil and 8,000 MT of sunflower oil

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier lowered his US soybean yield projection by 1 bushel per acre (bpa) from last week to 46.5 bpa

- Argentine June soybean crush was reported at 3.85 MMT, down from 4.52 MMT in May and down 4.7% from last year

- Argentine June sunflower crush was reported at 251,264 MT, down from 315,786 MT in May and down 18.8% from last year

- Stocks of soymeal at Argentine mills climbed to 1.391 MMT at the end of June 2017, up by 54.6% from a year-ago

- Stocks of soybean oil at Argentine mills are estimated at 262,407 MT at the end of June 2017, down by 29.7% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunoil at Argentine mills are estimated at 128,547 MT at the end of June 2017, up by 8.9% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunflower meal at Argentine mills are estimated at 69,356 MT at the end of June 2017, down by 7.2% from a year-ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's July 1-25 palm oil exports at 1,044,456 MT up 4.8% from a month ago
