- July 19 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association bought 105,150 MT of US milling wheat for Sept-Oct shipment

- July 18 - Egypt's (GASC) bought 300,000 MT of wheat from Russia (120 TMT), Romania (120 TMT) and France (60 TMT) for August 21-31 shipment:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Aston at 219.6 $/mt c&f (203.45 fob+16.15 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from ADM at 219.6 $/mt c&f (204.6 fob+15 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 219.7 $/mt c&f (206.08 fob+13.62 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Solaris at 219.7 $/mt c&f (204.94 fob+14.76 freight);
  • 60,000 MT of French wheat from Casillo at 220.85 $/mt c&f (203 fob+17.85 freight)

- July 18 - China sold 11,972 MT of wheat from state reserves or 0.4% of the offered amount (3,042,876 MT) at auction at average price of 2,408 RMB/mt (356 $/mt)

- July 18 - China failed to sell imported wheat from state reserves; at the auction was offered 125,026 MT

- July 18 - Argentina registered 36,000 MT of wheat for export

- Kazakh farmers harvested 385,300 MT of all grains as of July 19, down from 419,500 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.9 mt/ha up from 2.05 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 14.54 MMT of wheat from 11.3% of the planned area as of July 18, down from 20.54 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.58 mt/ha up from 4.32 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian grain stocks were at 15.352 MMT as of July 1, 2017, up 12% from a year earlier (13.702 MMT as of July 1, 2016). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 5.6 MMT of wheat from 25% of the planned area as of July 18, down from 9.9 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.47 mt/ha versus 3.82 mt/ha a year ago

- UN said Syria's 2017 wheat crop has slightly improved to 1.8 MMT, 12% higher than last year's record low, but less than half of pre-war production averages

- Iraqi Ag Min said they've bought 3.1 MMT of local wheat, out of the 3.65 MMT target. The purchasing period will end in mid-August. The country's annual wheat supply needs are between 4.5 and 5.0 MMT

- European Commission forecasted Hungary's 2017 wheat production at 4.57 MMT, down 16.1% from last year's crop

- European Commission forecasted Bulgaria's 2017 wheat production at 5.25 MMT, down 6.4% from last year's crop

CORN

- July 19 - Japan bought 300 MT of feed barley for December 28 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on July 26

- July 13 - Algeria's state grain buyer bought 70,000 MT of optional-origin corn at 176-178 $/mt c&f for July-August shipment

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his projection for US 2017 corn crop unchanged from prior week at 13.76-billion bu

- Russian farmers harvested 2.68 MMT of barley from 8.3% of the planned area as of July 18, down from 2.96 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.02 mt/ha up from 3.83 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 3.7 MMT of barley from 48% of the planned area as of July 18, down from 5.7 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.17 mt/ha down from 3.24 mt/ha a year ago
