WHEAT

- May 9 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association seeks 95,750 MT of US milling wheat for June-July shipment

- May 2 - China sold 419,526 MT of wheat from state reserves or 15.5% of the of the offered amount (2,702,944 MT) at auction at average price of 2,507 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

- Egypt has procured 359,565 MT of wheat from farmers since the start of its local harvest in mid-April vs. 395,523 MT during the same period last year

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Apr 27, recorded 574,588 MT, within market expectations (400-600 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 32.5% ahead of year-ago

- USDA estimated 54% of the US winter wheat crop good to excellent as of April 30 compared to 54% a week ago and 61% a year-ago, slightly ahead analysts' expectations of 53% (range 52-55%)

- USDA estimated US spring wheat planting at 31% complete as of April 30, behind an average of trade estimates for 33% and well below than 52% last year and 46% five-year average

CORN

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Apr 27, reported 1,093,729 MT, within market forecasts (1.0-1.3 MMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 59% ahead of year-ago

- USDA said the US corn crop was 34% planted as of Apr 30, exceeding an average of trade estimates for 31% and at par with five-year average of 34% at this time of the year, but behind a 43% last year

- USDA estimated US sorghum planting 27% complete as of April 30, compared to 23% last year and a 26% five-year average

- US corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 515 million bushels in March 2017, up 9% from February 2017 and up 5% from March 2016

- US dry mill co-product production of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGs) was 2.0 million tons during March 2017, up 5% from February 2017 and up 4% from March 2016

- US wet mill corn gluten feed production was 355 thousand tons during March 2017, up 32% from February 2017 and up 4% from March 2016

- EIA estimated US ethanol production for February at 28.747 million barrels versus 32.241 million barrels in January and vs. 28.678 million barrels a year ago

- EIA reported February ethanol inventory at 23.028 million barrels, which is up 1.7% from January and up 0.1% from last year

SOYBEAN

- May 4 - Egypt’s GASC seeks 30,000 MT of soybean oil and 6,000 MT of local soybean oil for June 20-July 10 arrival

- Apr 28 - Argentina registered for export 299,079 MT of soymeal and 8,023 MT of soybean oil

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Apr 27, reported 521,218 MT, in line with market expectations that ranged from 400 to 600 TMT. Inspections for the 2016/17 marketing year are running 15.2% ahead of year-ago

- USDA said US soybean planting was 10% complete as of April 30, slightly behind of market forecasts (12% - avg., 9-15% - range) but ahead compared to the 7% last-year and five-year average scores

- USDA estimated US March soybean crush for crude oil at 4.8 million short tons, slightly below the average market expectation (4.865 mln tons, or 162.2 mln bu) and down from 4.992 mln tons a year ago. Crude soyoil stocks rose to 1.939 billion lbs as of March 31 from 1.798 in February, but below the 1.957 bln lbs a year ago, while refined oil stocks were at 413,988 million lbs as of March 31 vs. 408,338 in Feb and 368,327 in Mar 2016. March US soy cake and meal stocks fell to 300,938 tons from 362,627 in February and vs. 302,672 tons a year-ago

- EIA said US February biodiesel production at 94 million gallons vs. 93 million gallons in January and vs. 105 million gallons a year ago

- EIA said 369 million lbs. of soybean oil used for biodiesel in January (50% of feedstock used to produce biodiesel) vs. 390 million lbs. in January and vs. 395 million lbs. a year ago

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's April 1-30 palm oil exports at 1,125,942 MT up 4.6% from a month ago
