- May 2 - Philippines importers are seeking 55,000 MT of feed wheat for July shipment

- Russia’s Ag Min said Russia exported about 30.387 MMT of grain between July 1-Apr 26, 2016/17, down by 0.3% from 30.466 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 23.542 MMT (22.07 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 2.439 MMT (4.086 MMT);
  • corn – 4.192 MMT (4.033 MMT);
  • others – 214 TMT (277 TMT)

- Russia has 4,002,500 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of April 27 vs. 3,238,300 MT a year-ago

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring planting 15.2% (or 8.01 million ha) done as of Apr 28 vs. 9.83 million ha a year ago. Of the total Russian farmers planted 4.48 million ha of spring grain or 14.5% of planned area (5.87 mln ha a year ago). Russian farmers have sown 589,600 ha of spring wheat or 4.3% of planned area as of April 28 vs. 790,100 ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers planted 292,300 ha of spring cereals crops as of April 28 vs. 356,700 ha a year ago

- Ukraine's Ag Min reports that 99.7% (or 7.15 mln ha) of Ukraine's winter grain crop had sprouted as of April 27 vs. 98% (or 6.9 mln ha) a year ago. About 89.6% of emerged crops were in good to satisfactory condition vs. 82% a year ago

- FranceAgriMer said 78% of France’s soft wheat crops were in good to excellent condition as of Apr 24, down 7% points from the prior week and vs. 88% a year ago; durum rating at 63% in good to excellent vs. 75% a week-ago and vs. 82% a year-ago

- USDA attaché forecasts Canada’s 2017/18 wheat production at 28.6 MMT (31.7 MMT in 2016/17), and exports at 21 MMT (20.5 MMT in 2016/17)

- USDA attaché forecasts UAE’s 2017/18 wheat imports at 1.3 MMT, up from 1.27 MMT in 2016/17

CORN

- Apr 27 - Argentina registered 52,500 MT of feed barley for export

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange maintains its forecast for Argentina's 2016/17 corn crop at 37 MMT, up 23.3% vs. 30 MMT in 2015/16. Harvesting of Argentine corn crop was 25.8% completed as of Apr 27 vs. last year’s pace of 23.6%

- FranceAgriMer estimated France’s corn planting 76% done as of Apr 24 (57% week ago), well ahead of last year pace of 24%

- FranceAgriMer said 71% of France’s winter barley crops were in good to excellent condition as of Apr 24, down 7% points from the prior week and below the year-ago score (87%). Spring barley rating was at 80% in good to excellent vs. 85% last week and vs. 94% a year ago

- Ukraine’s Ag Min estimated early spring grain planting 97% done as of Apr 28. Ukrainian farmers planted 2.3 million ha of spring crops, thereof 1.5 million ha of barley (or 94% of planned area) vs. 1.8 mln ha a year ago, 376,000 ha of peas (well above initial plan), 195,000 ha of oats (or 94%) and 164,000 ha of wheat (or 92%)

- Ukrainian farmers have sown 1.5 million ha of corn or 33% of planned area as of April 28 vs. 2.5 million ha a year ago

- Apr 27 - South Korea's NOFI has purchased about 30,500 MT of feed ingredients:

  • 24,000 MT of palm kernel expeller meal from South East Asia in four equal consignments at 101.5 $/mt c&f for July 5-20 arrival;
  • 6,500 MT of copra meal from South East Asia at 159.9 $/mt c&f for July 1 arrival

- Apr 27 - Argentina registered for export 71,950 MT of soybean oil, 67,763 MT of soymeal and 7,590 MT of sunflower meal

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange kept its Argentina's 2016/17 soybean harvest estimate at 56.5 MMT, up from 56 MMT in 2015/16. Harvesting of Argentine soybean crop was 32.3% completed as of Apr 27 vs. last year’s pace of 24.2%

- Russian farmers have sown 1.28 million ha of sunflower or 17.9% of planned area as of April 28 vs. 1.5 million ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have sown 86,700 ha of rapeseed or 9.9% of planned area as of April 28 vs. 69,700 ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have sown 101,300 ha of soybeans or 4.5% of planned area as of April 28 vs. 145,400 ha a year ago
