WHEAT

- May 7 - Iraq seeks at least 50,000 MT of wheat from either the US, Canada or Australia. The tender closes on May 7 and offers must remain valid up to May 11

- Apr 26 - Tunisia's state grains agency seeks 67,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat for July-August shipment

- Apr 24 - Argentina registered 35,145 MT of wheat for export

- USDA estimated 54% of the US winter wheat crop good to excellent as of April 23 compared to 54% a week ago and 59% a year-ago, slightly behind analysts' expectations of 55% (range 52-56%)

- USDA estimated US spring wheat planting at 22% complete as of April 23, as expected, but behind a 40% last year and a 34% five-year average

- China's March wheat imports up 140.5% on year to 502,120 MT (main suppliers: Australia (234,601 MT) and US (219,958 MT)). China's Jan-Mar wheat imports rose 92.25% on year to 1.069 MMT

- Apr 25 - China sold 525,221 MT of wheat from state reserves or 20.1% of the of the offered amount (2,613,944 MT) at auction at average price of 2,507 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

CORN

- Apr 24 - Argentina registered 156,987 MT of corn for export

- USDA said the US corn crop was 17% planted as of Apr 23, exceeding an average of trade estimates for 15%, but lag behind a 28% last year and a 18% five-year average

- USDA estimated US sorghum planting 24% complete as of April 23, compared to 19% last year and a 23% five-year average

- China imported only 5,262 MT of corn last month, down 99.1% from the year-ago level. China's Jan-Mar corn imports fell 52.5% on year to 306,695 MT

- China imported 89,761 MT of distillers' dried grains (DDGS) in March, up 30.4% from February but down 75.9% from a year-ago. China's Jan-Feb DDGS imports fell 77% on year to 194,632 MT

- China's March ethanol imports fell almost 100% year on year to only 33 cubic metres

- China's March barley imports rose 119.2% on year to 708,617 MT, mostly from Australia (698,749 MT). China's Jan-Mar barley imports rose 130.3% on year to 2.181 MMT

- China imported 721,375 MT of sorghum in March, down 13.5% from a year-ago, mainly from the US (712,680 MT). China's Jan-Mar sorghum imports fell 12.8% on year to 2.026 MT

SOYBEAN

- Apr 24 - Argentina registered for export 113,000 MT of soybeans, 166,000 MT of soymeal and 7,501 MT of soybean oil

- USDA said US soybean planting was 6% complete, well ahead of market forecasts (2-3%) and compared to the 3% last-year and five-year average scores

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's April 1-25 palm oil exports at 866,297 MT down 3.4% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's April 1-25 palm oil exports at 891,725 MT down 1.2% from a month ago

- China imported 6,327 MMT of soybeans during March up 3.7% from year-ago (main suppliers: US (4.223 MMT), Brazil (1.749 MMT) and Canada (269,790 MT)). China's Jan-Mar soybean imports rose 20% on year to 19.521 MMT

- China's March soybean oil imports rose 71.4% from year-ago level to 27,003 MT, incl. 17,000 MT from Brazil. China's Jan-Mar soy oil imports decline 15.3% on year to 92,086 MT

- China's March rapeseed imports up 5.4% on year to 295,834 MT, incl. 292,244 MT from Canada. China's Jan-Mar rapeseed imports rose 35.7% on year to 1.25 MMT

- China's March rapeseed oil imports fell by 40.1% on year to 91,802 MT, mainly from Canada (83,503 MT). China's Jan-Mar rapeseed oil imports decreased 12.2% on year to 251,000 MT

- China's March rapeseed meal imports totalled 58,554 MT, mostly from Canada

- China's March palm oil imports down 7.7% on year to 377,455 MT (main suppliers: Indonesia (256,874 MT) and Malaysia (120,526 MT)). China's Jan-Mar palm oil imports totalled 1.252 MMT
