WHEAT

- Mar 27 - Philippines importers are seeking 150,000 MT of feed wheat and 20,000 MT of milling wheat for July, August and September shipment

- Mar 22 - Jordan bought 50,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat from Nibulon at 203 $/mt c&f for Sept 1-15 shipment

- Mar 22 - USDA announced export sales of 120,000 MT of US hard red winter wheat for delivery to Saudi Arabia during 2016/17

- Mar 22 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. It will skip the auction next week due to the end of fiscal year

- Mar 21 - Argentina registered for export 18,551 MT of wheat and 6,259 MT of wheat flour

- Mar 22 - China failed to sell imported wheat from state reserves; at the auction was offered 92,901 MT of 2013 US #2 soft red winter wheat

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 32.132 MMT of grain between July 1-Mar 22, 2016/17, up 10.5% from 29.087 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 14.285 MMT (vs. 12.488 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 4.729 MMT (3.971 MMT);
  • corn – 12.943 MMT (12.453 MMT)

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 1.572 MMT of wheat via port Varna between July 4-Mar 19, 2016/17, up 10.6% from a year-ago (1.421 MMT)

- Japan's February grain imports fell 31.3% on year to 1.543 MMT, incl. 941,262 MT from the US (+19.2%)

- Russian Ag Min estimated spring planting 1.2% (or 636,200 ha) done as of Mar 22 vs. 769,100 ha a year ago. Of the total Russian farmers planted 484,900 ha of spring grain or 1.6% of planned area (582,900 ha a year ago)

CORN

- Mar 23 - Algerian’s ONAB seeks 25,000 MT of optional-origin corn for April 15-30 shipment

- Mar 21 - Argentina registered 171,500 MT of corn for export

- Mar 21 - Argentina registered 30,000 MT of sorghum for export

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 191,336 MT of corn via port Varna between Sept 1-Mar 19, 2016/17, down 52.4% from a year-ago (401,927 MT)

- Ukraine’s Ag Min estimated early spring grain planting 20% done as of Mar 22. Ukrainian farmers planted 471,000 ha of spring crops, thereof 321,000 ha of barley (or 19% of planned area), 122,000 ha of peas (or 44%), 16,000 ha of oats (or 8%) and 12,000 ha of wheat (or 6%)

SOYBEAN

- Mar 22 - USDA announced export sales of 120,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2017/18

- Mar 21 - Argentina registered for export 130,000 MT of soybeans, 20,100 MT of soymeal and 13,669 MT of soybean oil

- Argentine February soybean crush was reported at 2.61 MMT, down from revised of 2.96 MMT in January and down 18.5% from last year

- Argentine February sunflower crush was reported at 203,940 MT, down from 308,973 MT in January and down 26.8% from last year

- Stocks of soymeal at Argentine mills totalled 591,017 MT at the end of February 2017, down by 8.8% from a year-ago

- Stocks of soybean oil at Argentine mills are estimated at 295,798 MT at the end of February 2017, down by 22.3% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunoil at Argentine mills are estimated at 67,848 MT at the end of February 2017, down by 21.3% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunflower meal at Argentine mills are estimated at 53,925 MT at the end of February 2017, up by 57.6% from a year-ago

- Japan's February soybean imports rose 53.4% on year to 311,995 MT, incl. 274,631 MT from the US (+62.5%)
