- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 30.831 MMT of grain between July 1-Mar 15, 2016/17, up 7.6% from 28.659 MMT for the same period last season, including:

  • wheat – 13.967 MMT (vs. 12.337 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 4.702 MMT (3.971 MMT);
  • corn – 11.913 MMT (12.097 MMT)

CORN

- Mar 15 - Taiwan's MFIG group bought 65,000 MT of US-origin corn at a premium of 119.11 USc/bushel c&f over the Chicago July 2017 contract (around 193.2 USD/mt, c&f) for April 18-May 22 shipment

- Mar 15 - Japan bought 1,177 MT of feed grain (600 MT of barley and 577 MT of wheat) for August 31 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on Mar 22

- Mar 14 - Argentina grants export licenses for 70,000 MT of corn

- According to Reuters, China importers have booked at least three cargoes of US corn, totaling about 195,000 MT, at about 195 $/mt c&f for shipment in the late spring to early summer from the Pacific Northwest. Analysts familiar with JCI report released Tuesday said that report placed China buying some 500,000 MT (6-10 cargoes) of US corn at about 200-210 $/mt c&f for May-June shipment. The report also suggested China bought 180,000 MT of barley

- Brazilian government to buy 2.2 MMT of domestic corn at auction for state reserves in September

- Allendale said US plantings of corn would decline to 90.018 million acres (36.4 mln ha), from 94.004 million in 2016 and vs. USDA’s February forecast of 90 mln acres. Allendale pegs its US 2017 corn crop forecast at 13.879 billion bushels (352.55 MMT)

SOYBEAN

- Mar 14 - Argentina grants export licenses for 237,153 MT of soymeal

- Allendale said US 2017 plantings of soybeans would increase to 88.825 million acres (35.9 mln ha), from 83.433 million in 2016 and slightly more than the USDA’s February forecast of 88 mln. Allendale pegs its US 2017 soybean crop estimate at 4.141 billion bushels (112.7 MMT)

- China suspends rapeseed oil auction this week. Reserve rapeoil tenders have been temporarily suspended, about 3 weeks earlier than expectation

- Germany's association of farm cooperatives forecast the country's 2017 winter rapeseed crop will rise 5.6% on the year to 4.86 MMT
