WHEAT
- Feb 22 - Egypt’s GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Mar 25-Apr 4 shipment
- Feb 22 - Tunisia's state grains agency bought 100,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat for March 15-April 25 shipment:
- 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Soufflet at 199.64 $/mt c&f;
- 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Soufflet at 202.64 $/mt c&f;
- 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Bunge at 202.75 $/mt c&f;
- 25,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Casillo at 204.48 $/mt c&f
- Libya has again delayed the offer deadline in an international tender to purchase 100,000 MT of milling wheat and 50,000 MT of durum wheat for Apr-May shipment, now to Feb 28. Offers in the tender must remain valid until March 31
- Feb 22 - Taiwan Flour Millers' Association bought 102,850 MT of US milling wheat from CHS in two consignments:
- The first consignment has an additional charge of 28.75 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between April 19-May 3:
- 28,600 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 275.51 $/mt fob;
- 15,700 MT of hard red winter wheat (12.5% protein) at 254.44 $/mt fob;
- 6,050 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 187.15 $/mt fob.
- The second consignment has an additional charge of 28.12 $/mt for ocean shipping from the US Pacific North West coast to Taiwan for shipment between May 6-20:
- 31,650 MT of dark northern spring wheat (14.5% protein) at 268.12 $/mt fob;
- 15,000 MT of hard red winter (12.5% protein) at 243.35 $/mt fob
- 5,850 MT of soft white wheat (9% protein) at 187.15 $/mt fob
- Feb 21 - Argentina grants export licenses for 30,000 MT of milling wheat
- Feb 22 - China failed to sell imported wheat from state reserves; at the auction was offered 95,749 MT of 2013 US #2 soft red winter wheat
- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 28.653 MMT of grain between July 1-Feb 22, 2016/17, up 11.6% from 25.667 MMT for the same period last season, including:
- wheat – 13.327 MMT (vs. 11.548 MMT a year ago);
- barley – 4.639 MMT (3.963 MMT);
- corn – 10.529 MMT (9.998 MMT)
- Kazakh Ag Min said Kazakhstan exported 5.368 MMT of grain between July 1-February 20, 2016/17 vs. 5.477 MMT a year ago, incl. flour – 1.956 MMT in wheat equivalent vs. 1.819 MMT in the same period of 2015/16
- Russian Grain Union expects Russian grain exports in March at around 2.8 MMT, up from 2 MMT a month earlier
CORN
- Libya has again delayed the offer deadline in an international tender to purchase 75,000 MT of yellow corn for Apr-May shipment, now to Feb 28. Offers in the tender must remain valid until March 31

- Feb 22 - Jordan bought 50,000 MT of optional origin feed barley from Cerealcom Dolj at around 180 $/mt c&f for July 16-31 shipment
- Feb 22 - Tunisia's state grains agency bought 25,000 MT of optional-origin feed barley from Bunge at 177.55 $/mt c&f for March 25-April 15 shipment
- Feb 22 - South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 55,000 MT of yellow corn, likely from the US, at just over 200 $/mt c&f including surcharge for additional port unloading for May 10 arrival
- Feb 22 - USDA announced cancellations of export sales of 136,000 MT of US corn for delivery to South Korea during 2016/17
- Feb 22 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. New SBS tender for the same amounts for each grain will be held on March 1
- Crop-destroying caterpillars (armyworms) have ravaged 63,000 hectares of maize in southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo since December, causing local maize prices to triple
SOYBEAN
- Libya has again delayed the offer deadline in an international tender to purchase 25,000 MT of soymeal for Apr-May shipment, now to Feb 28. Offers in the tender must remain valid until March 31
- Feb 22 - China sold 98,482 MT of rapeseed oil produced in 2012 and 2013 from state reserves or 100% of the offered amount at auction at an average price of 6,539 RMB/mt (950 $/mt). Since Oct 12, 2016, the accumulated traded quantity was 1,878,762 MT
