WHEAT

- Bangladesh will import 200,000 MT of wheat from Russia in a government-to-government deal at 245 $/mt CIF liner out. The first batch of 55,000 MT of wheat is arriving on Feb 18

- Feb 8 - Tunisia's state grains agency bought 100,000 MT of optional origin durum wheat in four consignments of 25,000 MT for March 5-May 15 shipment. Lowest price in the tender was 267.99 $/mt c&f for 25,000 MT

- Feb 8 - Japan bought 6,200 MT of feed wheat for July 31 arrival via SBS-tender. New SBS tender for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley will be held on Feb 15

- Feb 7 - Jordan Silos & Supply General Company has postponed a tender to buy 25,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat for March 1-25 shipment from Feb 7 to Feb 14

- Feb 7 - Argentina grants export licenses for 95,442 MT of milling wheat

- India has bought more than 5 MMT of wheat since mid-2016, already its biggest annual purchase in a decade, mostly from Ukraine and Australia

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 1.476 MMT of wheat via port Varna between July 4-Feb 5, 2016/17, up 14.5% from a year-ago (1.289 MMT)

- Iran’s Ag Min has set a wheat production target of 12.6 MMT in the next Iranian year (March 2017/18). A record high of over 14 MMT of wheat were produced this year, more than 11.76 MMT of which, were purchased by the Government Trading Corporation from local farmers at guaranteed prices

- Feb 7 - China sold 144,421 MT of wheat from state reserves or 5.5% of the of the offered amount (2,606,011 MT) at auction at average price of 2,504 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

- Feb 8 - China auctioned 2,600 MT of imported wheat from state reserves, or 2.8% of the offered amount (91,991 MT), at average price of 2,519 RMB/mt (366 $/mt)

- Algeria's grain imports were 13.22 MMT in 2016, down 3.3% from last year (13.68 MMT in 2015). Soft wheat purchases fell 4.6% to 6.43 MMT, while durum wheat imports rose 1.8% to 1.79 MMT

CORN

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his forecast of South America’s 2016/17 corn crop unchanged this week at 124.3 MMT compared to 97.2 MMT in 2015/16

- CNGOIC raised its estimate for Chinese corn consumption for 2016/17 by 500,000 MT to 197.6 MMT, up 21 MMT from the previous marketing year, as demand for the grain in livestock feed would rise after China slapped anti-dumping duties on US distiller's dried grains

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported only 13,916 MT of barley via port Varna between July 4- Feb 5, 2016/17, down 88.9% from a year-ago (125,842 MT)

- Algeria's Jan-Dec 2016 maize imports were 4.11 MMT, down 6.8% from the same period a year earlier (4.41 MMT)

- Algeria's Jan-Dec 2016 barley imports rose by 16.3% to 879,214 MT (756,142 MT a year ago)

SOYBEAN

- Feb 8 - China sold 97,503 MT of rapeseed oil produced in 2012 and 2013 from state reserves or 100% of the offered amount at auction at an average price of 6,751 RMB/mt (982 $/mt). Since Oct 12, 2016, the accumulated traded quantity was 1,681,553 MT

- Feb 7 - Argentina grants export licenses for 68,540 MT of soybean oil and 47,153 MT of soymeal

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier raised his forecast of South America’s 2016/17 soybean crop this week by 1 MMT to 171.2 MMT (165.5 MMT in 2015/16) due to increase forecast for Brazil by 1 MMT to 104 MMT (95.5 MMT in 2015/16)

- Bulgaria's Ag Min said Bulgaria exported 89,858 MT of sunflower via port Varna between Sept 1-Feb 5, 2016/17, down 15.4% from a year-ago (106,276 MT)

- India's oilmeal exports rose 131% from a year ago to 165,980 MT in January (71,890 MT in Jan 2016). India's export of oilmeals during April-Jan 2016/17 rose 2.7% to 1,335,894 MT compared to 1,300,465 MT during the same period of last year

- India exported 155,160 MT of soybean meal in January down from 241,250 MT a month ago. India's Apr-Jan 2016/17 soymeal exports are estimated at 601,270 MT

- India exported 2,261 MT of rapeseed meal in January vs. 2,292 MT a month ago. India's Apr-Jan 2016/17 rapeseed exports are estimated at 178,129 MT

- India exported 5,263 MT of castor meal in January down from 28,305 MT a month ago. India's Apr-Jan 2016/17 rapeseed exports are estimated at 328,181 MT
