WHEAT

- Jan 27 - Argentina grants export licenses for 35,022 MT of milling wheat

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 22.091 MMT of grain between July 1-Jan 25, 2016/17, up by 0.7% from 21.942 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 17.215 MMT (16.479 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 1.953 MMT (3.314 MMT);
  • corn – 2.774 MMT (1.967 MMT);
  • others – 149 TMT (180 TMT)

- Russia has 4,039,900 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of January 26 vs. 2,818,400 MT a year ago

- Russian grain stocks were at 39.126 MMT as of January 1, 2017, up 13.2% from a year earlier (34.551 MMT as of Jan 1, 2016). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- Moldova's National Bureau of Statistics estimated 2016 wheat harvest at 1.29 MMT, up 39.8% from 922 TMT in 2015

- India's farmers increased planting of winter crops by 6.2% from the same period last year, with wheat (+7.9% to 31.56 mln ha), pulses (+11.3% to 15.93 mln ha) and rapeseed (+9.3% to 7.01 mln ha) accounting for the lion's share of the growth in acreage

- UN said that reserves of wheat in Yemen have fallen to three months' supply

- Jan 27 - Argentina grants export licenses for 10,000 MT of soymeal

- Stocks of soymeal at Argentine mills reportedly increased to a record 1.508 MMT at the end of December, 2016, up by 76.3% from a year-ago

- Stocks of soybean oil at Argentine mills are estimated at 245 TMT at the end of December, 2016, down by 23.1% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunoil at Argentine mills are estimated at 44,660 MT at the end of December, 2016, down by 34.5% from a year-ago

- Stocks of sunflower meal at Argentine mills are estimated at 29,679 MT at the end of December, 2016, down by 11.4% from a year-ago

- FranceAgriMer lowered its estimate of France's 2016/17 soybean crop to 345 TMT from 384 TMT in November and vs. 334 TMT in 2015/16 with the carryout pegged at 54 TMT (72 TMT previous estimate) against 70 TMT year ago

- FranceAgriMer slightly trimmed its estimate of France's 2016/17 rapeseed crop to 4.654 MMT from 4.657 MMT in Nov and vs. 5.307 MMT in 2015/16 with the carryout expected at 36 TMT (40 TMT previously) against 137 TMT at the end of 2015/16. France's 2016/17 rapeseed exports are forecasted at 1.32 MMT (1.27 MMT in Nov) vs. 1.511 MMT year ago and imports at 1.3 MMT (1.19 MMT in 2015/16)

- FranceAgriMer marginally trimmed its estimate of France's 2016/17 sunseed crop to 1.223 MMT MMT from 1.225 MMT in Nov and vs. 1.186 MMT in 2015/16 with the carryout pegged at 140 TMT (117 TMT previously) against 152 TMT in 2015/16. France's 2016/17 sunseed exports are estimated at 275 TMT (290 TMT in Nov) vs. 328 TMT year ago and imports at 420 TMT (450 TMT in Nov) vs. 235 TMT in 2015/16

- Bulgaria's Ag Min estimated 2016 sunflower harvest at 1.8 MMT, up from 1.699 MMT in 2015

- Moldova's National Bureau of Statistics estimated 2016 sunflower production at 673 TMT, up 38.9% from 485 TMT in 2015

- Oil World said EU sunseed imports are seen rising steeply to a 13-year high of 0.8 MMT in Aug-July 2016/17 (0.46 MMT in 2015/16)
