WHEAT

- Jan 18 - Jordan seeks up to 100,000 MT of optional origin milling wheat

- Jan 18 - Philippines are seeking 159,000 MT (3x53 TMT) of feed wheat for April, May and June arrival

- Jan 14 - Egypt's GASC bought 235,000 MT of Russian wheat (175 TMT) and Romanian wheat (60 TMT) for February 15-25 shipment:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Grainbow at 198.89 $/mt c&f (187.50 $/mt fob+11.39 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Olam at 199.34 $/mt c&f (187.95 $/mt fob+11.39 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Cerealcom at 200.35 $/mt c&f (189.65 $/mt fob+10.70 $/mt freight);
  • 55,000 MT of Russian wheat from Glencore at 200.64 $/mt c&f (188.34 $/mt fob+12.30 $/mt freight)

- Jan 13 - Argentina grants export licenses for 109,238 MT of milling wheat and 5,186 MT of wheat flour

- India is expected to receive close to 1 MMT of wheat in January as delayed shipments from late last year and cargoes booked for delivery this month arrive from Australia (300 TMT) and Ukraine (600-700 TMT)

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 20.756 MMT of grain between July 1-Jan 11, 2016/17, down by 0.1% from 20.767 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 16.285 MMT (15.524 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 1.874 MMT (3.267 MMT);
  • corn – 2.459 MMT (1.806 MMT);
  • others – 138 TMT (168 TMT)

- Russia has 4,038,800 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of January 11 vs. 2,646,600 MT a year ago

- Kazakhstan's grain stocks as of January 1, 2017 accounted 14.819 MMT, including 11.984 MMT of wheat thereof 9.878 MMT of milling wheat compared to 13.8 MMT (incl. 11.663 MMT of wheat thereof 9.614 MMT of milling) a year ago

- Algeria's grain imports were 12.35 MMT in the first eleven months of 2016, up 0.1% from the same period a year earlier. Soft wheat purchases fell 3.1% to 5.9 MMT, while durum wheat imports rose 13.8% to 1.76 MMT

- Preliminary Ag Min data showed that Ukraine harvested a record 66 MMT of grain by clean weight in 2016, up from 60.1 MMT in 2015. The wheat harvest totalled 26 MMT in 2016, slightly down from 26.5 MMT the previous year

- Algeria's Jan-Nov 2016 barley imports rose by 19.1% to 847,713 MT (711,833 MT a year ago)

- CNGOIC expects China's corn imports in 2016/17 to decline by 37% on year to 2 MMT

- Chinese buyers have cancelled up to seven cargoes of ethanol due to arrive by the end of March, as Beijing may hike import duties

- Jan 13 - Argentina grants export licenses for 673,860 MT of soymeal, 17,795 MT of soybean oil and 8,000 MT of sunflower meal

- Preliminary Ag Min data showed that Ukraine harvested a record 4.3 MMT of soybeans by clean weight in 2016 (3.9 MMT in 2015)

- Preliminary Ag Min data showed that Ukrainian sunflower seed output in 2016 rose to a record 13.6 MMT from 11.4 MMT in 2015

- Ukraine's Ag Min said that around 95% winter rapeseed for 2017 crop were emerged and about 82% of emerged crops were in good and satisfactory condition
