The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Saturday, January 14, bought 175,000 MT of Russian wheat and 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat for February 15-25 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Grainbow at 198.89 $/mt c&f (187.50 $/mt fob+11.39 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Olam at 199.34 $/mt c&f (187.95 $/mt fob+11.39 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Cerealcom at 200.35 $/mt c&f (189.65 $/mt fob+10.70 $/mt freight);
  • 55,000 MT of Russian wheat from Glencore at 200.64 $/mt c&f (188.34 $/mt fob+12.30 $/mt freight)

It was the 20-th international tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 3.41 MMT (2.39 MMT from Russia, 780 TMT from Romania, 120 TMT from Argentina and 120 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2016/17

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Grainbow: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.50 $/mt fob
  • Olam: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.95 $/mt fob
  • Glencore: 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189.44 $/mt fob
  • Cerealcom: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 190.65 $/mt fob
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 193.50 $/mt fob
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 194.00 $/mt fob
  • AOS: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 194.94 $/mt fob

The offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Grainbow: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.50+11.39=198.89 $/mt c&f
  • Olam: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.95+11.39=199.34 $/mt c&f
  • Cerealcom: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 190.65+10.79=201.44 $/mt c&f
  • Glencore: 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189.44+12.50=201.94 $/mt c&f
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 193.50+11.39=204.89 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 194.00+11.39=205.39 $/mt c&f
  • AOS: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 194.94+11.39=206.33 $/mt c&f
