WHEAT

- Jan 4 - Algeria's OAIC seeks at least 50,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat for March shipment

- Jan 2 - Jordan has again made no purchase in an international tender to buy 25,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat and retender on Jan 9

- Jan 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 33,160 MT of milling wheat

- Dec 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 49,500 MT of milling wheat and 5,661 MT of wheat flour

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 19.734 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 28, 2016/17, down by 3.7% from 20.496 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 15.445 MMT (15.349 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 1.834 MMT (3.209 MMT);
  • corn – 2.321 MMT (1.769 MMT);
  • others – 133 TMT (168 TMT)

- Russia has 4,036,100 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of December 29 vs. 2,583,800 MT a year ago

CORN

- Jan 5 - Taiwan's MFIG seeks up to 65,000 MT of corn from the US, Argentina, Brazil or South Africa

- Jan 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 37,000 MT of barley

- Dec 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 19,750 MT of corn

- Dec 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 10,500 MT of barley and 13,500 MT of malt

- Brazil's Trade Ministry reported December corn exports at 1.006 MMT, up from 961,434 MT in November but well below than 6.268 MMT in the year-ago month

- Brazil's Trade Ministry reported December ethanol exports at 70.2 million litres, up from 40.4 mln litres in November but down from 286.7 mln litres last December

SOYBEAN

- Jan 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 108,000 MT of soymeal

- Argentina will start cutting its soybean export tax by 0.5 percentage point every month for two years starting in January 2018, resulting in a 12-point reduction to 18% by the end of 2019. The half-point-per-month export tax reduction in 2018 and 2019 will also apply to the 27-% levy currently placed on soyoil and soymeal exports

- Brazil's Trade Ministry reported December soybean exports at 653,098 MT, up from 316,094 MT in November but down from 731,440 MT a year ago. Also Brazil exported 1.012 MMT of soymeal in December versus 867,679 MT the month before and 1.043 MMT a year ago; and 66,157 MT of soyoil compared to 56,968 MT in November and 163,549 MT a year ago

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's December 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,086,523 MT down 5.7% from a month ago

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's December 1-31 palm oil exports at 1,109,606 MT down 1.8% from a month ago
