WHEAT

- Dec 29 - Jordan Silos & Supply General Company seeks up to 30,000 MT of optional-origin hard milling wheat for Jan-Feb shipment

- Dec 27 - Argentina grants export licenses for 25,000 MT of milling wheat

- UN recently bought 30,000 MT of Black Sea wheat for donation to eastern Africa for Feb-March delivery

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Dec 22, recorded 520,975 MT, topped market expectations (300-500 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 28% ahead of year-ago

- Dec 28 - China auctioned 7,391 MT of 2013 imported wheat from state reserves, or 10.5% of the offered amount (70,501 MT), at an average price of 2,527 RMB/mt (363 $/mt)

- Dec 27 - China sold 381,477 MT of wheat from state reserves or 14.4% of the of the offered amount (2,653,000 MT) at auction at average price of 2,507 RMB/mt (360 $/mt)

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 21.848 MMT of grain between July 1-Dec 27, 2016, up 5% from 20.816 MMT for the same period last year, including:

  • wheat – 11.101 MMT (vs. 10.13 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 4.288 MMT (3.885 MMT);
  • corn – 6.353 MMT (6.67 MMT);
  • others – 106 TMT (131 TMT)

- Australian wheat said to be 75% to 80% harvested

CORN

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Dec 22, reported 970,506 MT, near the top end of market forecasts (775-975 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 79.7% ahead of year-ago

- Germany culling some 77,000 poultry as bird flu found on farms

- Argentina's beef exports totalled 193,000 MT between January and October, up 10% from the same period last year

SOYBEAN

- Dec 28 - China sold 98,606 MT of rapeseed oil produced in 2013 from state reserves or 100% of the offered amount at auction at an average price of 6,783 RMB/mt (975 $/mt). Since Oct 12, 2016, the accumulated traded quantity was 1,189,147 MT

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Dec 22, reported 1,710,188 MT, near the top end of expectations that ranged from 1.4 to 1.8 MMT. Inspections for the 2016/17 marketing year are running 19.2% ahead of year-ago

- Carbio says Argentina's biodiesel production would likely hit a record-high 2.7 MMT in 2016, a 50% surge from the year prior

- Surveyor SGS estimated Malaysia's December 1-25 palm oil exports at 827,347 MT down 7.6% from a month ago

- Indonesia has set crude palm oil export tax at 3 $/mt for January, up from zero in December as the government reference price is seen rising to 788.26 $/mt
