The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, February 3, bought 300,000 tons of Romanian and French wheat for shipment March 1-10:

  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Soufflet at 233.68 $/t c&f (220.94 $/t fob plus $10.24 freight + 2.5 $/t for shipment from two ports)
  • 60 KMT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 237.69 $/t c&f (230.25 $/t fob plus $7.44 freight)
  • 60 KMT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 237.69 $/t c&f (230.25 $/t fob plus $7.44 freight)
  • 60 KMT of Romanian wheat from Nidera at 238.24 $/t c&f (230.50 $/t fob plus $7.74 freight)
  • 60 KMT of French wheat from Lecureur at 238.99 $/t c&f (222.20 $/t fob plus $14.29 freight + 2.5 $/t for shipment from two ports)

GASC has bought 3.625 MMT (1.68 MMT from France, 960 KMT from Romania, 765 KMT from Russia, 55 KMT from USA and 165 KMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2014/15.

Egypt purchased 5.46 MMT of wheat from abroad in the 2013/14 fiscal year in addition to 3.7 MMT of local wheat.
