WHEAT

- Dec 1 - Japan bought 158,514 MT of food wheat for Jan-Feb shipment:

  • 13,140 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 19,483 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 59,705 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 66,186 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat

- Nov 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 26,278 MT of milling wheat and 15,000 MT of low protein wheat

- Argentina in November granted export licenses for 570,762 MT of low protein wheat and milling wheat; and 52,869 MT of wheat flour

- SovEcon made an initial estimate of Russia's 2017 grain production at 112.5 MMT compared to a record 119.5 MMT (incl. 72.5 MMT of wheat) harvested this year. This year's record crop will leave Russia with 38 MMT of grain (incl. 28 MMT of wheat) available for export in 2016/17 and very high stocks of 19.6 MMT (incl. 12.4 MMT of wheat) by June 30, 2017

- Russia plans to launch futures contracts for grain on Moscow commodity exchange in 2017

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 17.782 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 29, 2016/17, including: wheat – 9.928 MMT; barley – 3.96 MMT; corn – 3.833 MMT; others – 61 TMT. Also was exported 132,400 MT of wheat flour

- Ukraine's state-run grain firm GPZKU may export 2.5 MMT of grain in 2016/17, down from 3.1 MMT in 2015/16

CORN

- Dec 2 - Saudi Arabia's SAGO seeks 960,000 MT of feed barley, in 16 consignments, for January-March 2017 shipment. 24 international suppliers are approved and registered to participate in SAGO tenders seeking supply of feed barley

- Nov 30 - Argentina grants export licenses for 31,500 MT of sorghum

- Argentina issued 402,359 MT of corn export licenses in November

- Argentina in November granted export licenses for 244,400 MT of barley and 9,975 MT of malt

- Argentina issued 31,780 MT of sorghum export licenses in November

- US Ethanol production for the week ended Nov 25 decreased by 2,000 barrels to 1,012,000 barrels per day, up 5.9% from last year's level of 956,000 bpd. Stocks fell by 504,000 barrels from the week prior to 18.448 million barrels, down 7.7% vs. 19.997 million barrels a year ago

- EIA estimated US ethanol production for September at 29.876 million barrels versus 31.669 million barrels in August and vs. 28.571 million barrels a year ago

- EIA reported September ethanol inventory at 20.605 million barrels, which is 8.8% higher from last year, but down 2.1% from August

- US net farm income is expected to drop for a third consecutive year in 2016, sinking 17.2% to $66.9 billion, the lowest level since 2009. This forecast is down from ERS's August forecast of $71.5 billion and follows a 12.7% drop in 2015

- Ukraine reported an outbreak of a highly contagious H5 bird flu virus among backyard birds in the southern part of the country

- Nov 30 - USDA announced export sales of 123,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2016/17

- Argentina in November issued a total of 76,000 MT of soybean export licenses; 1.285 MMT of soymeal licenses and 590,376 MT of soybean oil licenses

- Argentina in November granted export licenses for 52,208 MT of sunflower oil and 5,493 MT of sunflower meal

- EIA said US September biodiesel production at 135 million gallons vs. 142 million gallons in August and vs. 107 million gallons a year ago

- EIA said 537 million lbs. of soybean oil used for biodiesel in September (53% of feedstock used to produce biodiesel) vs. 561 million lbs. in August and vs. 390 million lbs. a year ago
