- Nov 29 - Egypt's GASC bought 240,000 MT of Russian wheat for January 2-11 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 202.24 $/mt c&f (188.74 $/mt fob+13.5 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Grainbow at 202.24 $/mt c&f (188.74 $/mt fob+13.5 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Olam at 202.55 $/mt c&f (189.05 $/mt fob+13.5 $/mt freight);
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Alegrow at 202.96 $/mt c&f (189.46 $/mt fob+13.5 $/mt freight)

- Nov 29 - Jordan has again made no purchase in an international tender to buy 50,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat and retender on Dec 6

- Nov 29 - Argentina grants export licenses for 10,000 MT of low protein wheat

- Australia's 2016/17 wheat crop may reach a record 31-32 MMT. Australian farmers have harvested around half of the crop, with initial results showing better-than-expected yields. Australian standard wheat with 9% protein was quoted at 185 $/mt fob this week

- Nov 30 - Russia bought 17,550 MT of intervention grain (all wheat) via tender on the NTB (National Trade Exchange, Moscow Exchange). Making the total bought since Sep 19 at 821,610 MT of 2016/17 grain (772,875 MT of wheat and 48,735 MT of barley)

- Ukrainian farmers have planted 5.909 million hectares of winter wheat (95.3% of plan) as of Nov 29 up from 5.644 mln ha a year ago

- Nov 30 - China auctioned 13,996 MT of 2013 imported wheat from state reserves, or 19.8% of the offered amount (70,730 MT), at an average price of 2,527 RMB/mt (367 $/mt)

- Nov 29 - China sold 395,781 MT of wheat from state reserves or 14.5% of the of the offered amount (2,724,893 MT) at auction at average price of 2,505 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

- China's grain production will fall by about 2.5%, in the five years to 2020, as the government withdraws severely polluted or degraded farmland for rehabilitation

- Syria's government plans to buy local wheat in the 2016/17 season at price of 125 Syrian pounds per kilo, up from 100 pounds in last season

CORN

- Nov 29 - Argentina grants export licenses for 45,950 MT of corn

- Nov 29 - Argentina grants export licenses for 17,500 MT of barley

- According to USDA's Office of the Chief Economist, US farmers will seed 90.0 million acres (36.42 mln ha) of corn in 2017/18, down from 94.5 million acres (38.24 mln ha) in 2016/17

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his forecast of South America's 2016/17 corn crop unchanged this week at 125.3 MMT compared to 97.2 MMT in 2015/16

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 23.137 MMT of maize from 86.6% of the planned area as of Nov 29, up from 22.014 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 6.3 mt/ha up from 5.61 mt/ha a year ago

- According to USDA's Office of the Chief Economist, US farmers will seed 85.5 million acres (34.6 mln ha) of soybeans in 2017/18, up from 83.7 million acres (33.87 mln ha) in 2016/17

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier maintains his forecast of South America's 2016/17 soybean crop at 172.2 MMT (165.5 MMT in 2015/16)

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier says Brazilian farmers continue to be slow sellers of 2016/17 soybeans, with less than 40% of the crop sold compared to around 55% last year at this time

- Ukrainian farmers as of Nov 29 harvested 13.373 MMT of sunflower seed from 5.88 million hectares, or 99.2% of the sown area with average yield rose to 2.27 mt/ha

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 4.073 MMT of soybean from 96.9% of the planned area as of Nov 29, up from 3.762 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.29 mt/ha up from 1.77 mt/ha a year ago
