WHEAT

- Nov 25 - Argentina grants export licenses for 60,000 MT of milling wheat and 42,000 MT of low protein wheat

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 15.82 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 23, 2016/17, down by 0.8% from 15.946 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 12.454 MMT (11.997 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 1.629 MMT (2.633 MMT);
  • corn – 1.653 MMT (1.18 MMT);
  • others – 85 TMT (136 TMT)

- Russia has 3,699,400 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of November 25 vs. 2,040,300 MT a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 75.83 MMT of wheat from 98.2% of the planned area as of Nov 28, up from 63.89 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.79 mt/ha up from 2.51 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have planted 17.33 million hectares (99.9% of the planned area) of winter crops as of Nov 28 vs. 16.32 mln ha a year ago

- Traders expect that Morocco's soft wheat imports this season, which started on Aug 15, when the government reduced custom duties to 30%, would reach 2 MMT by the end of December (incl. around 800,000 MT from the US and EU under preferential tariff agreements). Last season's grain imports, which run from Oct 1 to June 30, rose slightly to 6.87 MMT (6.34 MMT in the previous campaign) and included 3.3 MMT of soft wheat (up from 3.03 MMT from a year earlier), 830,000 MT of durum, 820,000 MT of barley and 1.9 MMT of corn

- Bangladesh raised the price the government will pay to farmers for the upcoming season's rice to 33 taka ($0.42) a kilogram, up from 31 taka a year ago. The government will buy 300,000 MT of rice from local farmers starting from Dec 1. Bangladesh aims to produce more than 34 MMT of rice in the current year vs. 33.5 MMT last year

CORN

- Nov 24 - Algeria's OAIC bought around 50,000-75,000 MT of optional origin feed barley, from northern Europe and the Black Sea region (probably from UK and Ukraine), at around 177 $/mt c&f for January shipment

- Indonesian agriculture minister said the country plans to stop imports of corn at the latest by 2018

- Russian farmers harvested 19.06 MMT of barley from 97.2% of the planned area as of Nov 28, up from 18.26 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.35 mt/ha up from 2.23 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 13.75 MMT of maize from 82% of the planned area as of Nov 28, up from 12.6 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 5.79 mt/ha up from 5.15 mt/ha a year ago

- Around 190,000 ducks were destroyed on Saturday at six farms in the Netherlands due to avian flu

SOYBEAN

- Nov 25 - South Korea's NOFI bought about 18,000 MT of palm kernel expellers at 123.4 $/mt c&f and 115 $/mt c&f for arrival around Feb 1 and Feb 10, 2017 and 6,000 MT of copra meal at 193.5 $/mt c&f for Feb 1 arrival+1.5 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading

- Nov 25 - Argentina grants export licenses for 40,000 MT of soymeal

- Nov 25 - Argentina grants export licenses for 13,522 MT of sunflower oil

- Oil World raised its Canadian canola crop estimate to 19.2 MMT in 2016, which may still be too low, considering industry estimates of as much as 20 MMT

- Russian farmers harvested 10.97 MMT of sunseed from 92.2% of the planned area as of Nov 28, up from 9.45 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.59 mt/ha up from 1.46 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 3.17 MMT of soybean from 93.5% of the planned area as of Nov 28, up from 2.82 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.55 mt/ha up from 1.43 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 1.08 MMT of rapeseed from 89.7% of the planned area as of Nov 28 vs. 1.09 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.21 mt/ha down from 1.25 mt/ha a year ago
