WHEAT

- Bangladesh will import 200,000 MT of wheat from Russia in a government-to-government deal at 245 $/mt CIF liner out

- Nov 22 - Jordan has again made no purchase in an international tender to buy 50,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat and retender on Nov 29

- UN aid agency recently purchased around 3,500 MT of wheat, likely Russian, for donation to North Korea for December shipment

- Nov 21 - Argentina grants export licenses for 31,930 MT milling wheat

- US wheat export inspections for week, ending Nov 17, recorded 429,770 MT, within expectations (300-500 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 29.4% ahead of year-ago

- USDA estimated 97% of the US winter wheat crop was planted as of Nov 20, in line with analyst expectations and ahead of last year's pace (95%), but below 5-year mean of 99%. USDA rated 58% of the US wheat crop in good-to-excellent condition as of Nov 20, as expected, down 1% point from prior week but ahead of 53% a year-ago

- Syria needs wheat and fuel to alleviate shortages and suffering caused by its civil war and wants to expand trade ties with Russia

- Nov 22 - Russia bought 24,300 MT of intervention grain (all wheat) via tender on the NTB (National Trade Exchange, Moscow Exchange). Making the total bought since Sep 19 at 764,640 MT of 2016/17 grain (715,905 MT of wheat and 48,735 MT of barley)

- Nov 22 - China sold 321,916 MT of wheat from state reserves or 11.8% of the of the offered amount (2,731,854 MT) at auction at average price of 2,504 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

- Ukraine's Ag Min said Ukraine exported 16.772 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 22, 2016/17, including: wheat – 9.535 MMT; barley – 3.945 MMT; corn – 3.231 MMT; others – 61 TMT. Also was exported 131,000 MT of wheat flour

- Ukrainian grain stocks were at 27.109 MMT as of November 1, down 14.5% from a year earlier, incl. 12.129 MMT of wheat (14.444 MMT a year ago), 2.76 MMT of barley (2.625 MMT a year ago) and 10.537 MMT of corn (12.872 MMT a year ago). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

- MARS left its yield estimate for this year's EU's soft wheat at 5.62 mt/ha unchanged from prior month, down 10.4% from last year and 3.5% less than the 5-year average (5.83 mt/ha)

CORN

- Malaysia recently purchased an unknown volume of Black Sea origin corn at just over 200 $/mt c&f for February 2017 shipment in containers

- Zambia has begun the export of 100,000 MT of maize to neighbouring Malawi

- US corn export inspections for week, ending Nov 17, reported 875,976 MT, in line with market forecasts (800-1000 TMT). Inspections for 2016/17 are running 82.6% ahead year-ago

- USDA estimated 97% of the US corn crop was harvested as of Nov 20, as expected, in line with last year's pace and ahead of 5-year mean (96%)

- MARS raised its yield forecast for this year's EU's corn to 6.83 mt/ha from 6.82 mt/ha last month, by 1.8% below the five-year average (6.95 mt/ha), but up 6.5% from 2015 (6.41 mt/ha)

- MARS increased its yield estimate for this year's EU's barley (winter and spring) to 4.77 mt/ha from 4.76 mt/ha last month, down 6.1% from last year (5.07 mt/ha), but 0.8% above the 5-year average (4.73 mt/ha)

- Iran reported two outbreaks of the bird flu virus H5N8 at farms located in the Tehran region

SOYBEAN

- Nov 22 - USDA announced export sales of 30,000 MT of US soybean oil for delivery to China during 2016/17

- Nov 21 - Argentina grants export licenses for 66,905 MT of soymeal and 50,000 MT soybean oil

- US soybean export inspections for week, ending Nov 17, reported 2,666,079 MT, topping a range of trade forecasts that ranged from 1.7 to 2.0 MMT. Inspections for the 2016/17 marketing year are running 20.6% ahead of year-ago

- MARS left its yield estimate for this year's EU's rapeseed at 3.21 mt/ha unchanged from last month, down 4.8% from 2015 (3.37 mt/ha) and 0.2% above the 5-year average (3.21)

- MARS raised its forecast the EU's 2016 average sunflower yield to 2.0 mt/ha from 1.99 mt/ha in October. This is up 7.3% from 2015 (1.86 mt/ha) and 3.2% above the five-year mean (1.93 mt/ha)

- FranceAgriMer left its estimate of France's 2016/17 soybean crop at 384 TMT vs. 334 TMT in 2015/16 with the carryout pegged at 72 TMT (84 TMT previous estimate) against 70 TMT year ago

- FranceAgriMer left its estimate of France's 2016/17 rapeseed crop at 4.657 MMT vs. 5.307 MMT in 2015/16 with the carryout expected at 44 TMT against 141 TMT at the end of 2015/16. France's 2016/17 rapeseed exports are forecasted at 1.27 MMT vs. 1.511 MMT year ago and imports at 1.3 MMT (1.19 MMT in 2015/16)

- FranceAgriMer left its estimate of France's 2016/17 sunseed crop at 1.225 MMT vs. 1.186 MMT in 2015/16 with the carryout pegged at 117 TMT against 152 TMT in 2015/16. France's 2016/17 sunseed exports are estimated at 290 TMT vs. 328 TMT year ago and imports at 450 TMT (235 TMT in 2015/16)

- Indonesia kept its crude palm oil export tax at zero for December, for a second month
