- Nov 17 - Japan bought 136,726 MT of food wheat for Dec-Jan shipment:

  • 15,591 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 54,725 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 31,310 MT of dark northern spring US wheat;
  • 35,100 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat

- Nov 15 - Algeria's OAIC bought 580,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat, 11% protein, at around 200-201.5 $/mt CIFFO for January shipment, from Casillo, Dreyfus, Cargill and Invivo

- Nov 16 - China auctioned 25,581 MT of 2013 imported wheat from state reserves, or 37.6% of the offered amount (67,966 MT), at an average price of 2,505 RMB/mt (364 $/mt)

- Egypt's GASC will accept offers for wheat from Paraguay, Hungary and Bulgaria in upcoming tenders, adding them to the list of permitted countries

- Lanworth forecasts India's 2017/18 wheat production at 100 MMT, well above last year's crop

- Brazil's government will provide financial support to local wheat sales after a record domestic crop depressed prices. Brazil, traditionally a net importer of wheat, is harvesting its largest ever wheat crop of 6.3 MMT

- Strategie Grains slightly lowered its EU soft wheat production estimate to 135.7 MMT, down 0.1 MMT from prior forecast and 10% lower than last year's record crop

- Strategie Grains expects EU soft wheat sowings for 2017 crop would be at 24.3 million hectares (24.2 mln. ha)

- UK exported 254,849 MT of wheat in September, slightly below than 255,857 MT in August but up 77.3% from a year-ago, including 60,000 MT to Algeria, 53,797 MT to Spain, 46,679 MT to Belgium-Luxembourg and 42,993 MT to the Netherlands. Cumulative exports for the season, which started on July 1, 2016, totalled 711,740 MT, doubled from 325,287 MT during the same period prior season

- UK imported 152,381 MT of wheat in September, slightly below than 153,521 MT in August and down 23.1% from a year-ago, including 47,740 MT from Estonia, 28,509 MT from Canada and 22,996 MT from Latvia. Britain's Jul-Sept wheat imports totalled 426,107 MT slightly down from 449,270 MT a year ago

- Thailand expects to export at least 9 MMT of rice in 2017

- Nov 16 - Argentina grants export licenses for 21,500 MT of barley

- Nov 15 - South Korea's FLC in a private deal purchased 117,000 MT of optional-origin yellow corn:

  • 50,000 MT from CJ International at 182.90 $/mt c&f including surcharge for additional port unloading for arrival around March 10
  • 67,000 MT from Pan Ocean at 183.50 $/mt c&f including surcharge for additional port unloading for arrival around March 20

- Nov 14 - South Korea's NOFI in a private deal purchased 68,000 MT of optional-origin yellow corn at 183.99 $/mt c&f+1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for arrival around March 20, 2017

- Nov 11 - South Korea's MFG in a private deal purchased 132,000 MT of optional-origin yellow corn from CHS in two equal consignments at 184.99 $/mt c&f+1.0 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for arrival around Mar 8 and Mar 13, 2017

- Strategie Grains cut its 2016 EU corn crop forecast to 59.6 MMT from the previous 59.8 MMT, 5% higher than last year's crop

- Strategie Grains expects EU grain maize sowings in 2017 would be unchanged from this year, at 8.8 mln ha

- Strategie Grains left its 2016 EU barley production forecast at 59.7 MMT unchanged from last month, 3% lower than last year's crop

- UK corn imports rose in September to 157,410 MT, up from 115,706 MT in August and up 34% from a year-ago, including 50,410 MT from France, 49,042 MT from Romania and 42,500 MT from the US. Britain's Jul-Sept corn imports totalled 390,886 MT vs. 437,826 MT a year ago

- UK exported 73,334 MT of barley in September, sharply down from 230,215 MT in August and 29.4% below last year level. Top customers included Belgium-Luxembourg (22,763 MT) and Spain (17,978 MT). Cumulative barley exports for 2016/17 totalled 358,414 MT compared to 370,406 MT in Jul-Sept 2015/16

- US Ethanol production for the week ended Nov 11 rose by 15,000 barrels to 1,017,000 barrels per day, up 4.3% from last year's level of 975,000 bpd. Stocks fell by 620,000 barrels from the week prior to 18.609 million barrels, down 3.3% vs. 19.249 million barrels a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Nov 16 - USDA announced export sales of 165,000 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2016/17

- Nov 16 - Argentina grants export licenses for 12,680 MT of soybean oil

- Nov 16 - China sold 100,660 MT of rapeseed oil produced in 2012, 2013 from state reserves or 100% of the offered amount at auction at an average price of 6,546 RMB/mt (952 $/mt)
