  • 1 consignment at 188.00 $/mt c&f from Black Sea region/EU or at 201.16 $/mt c&f from Australia;
  • 1 consignment at 201.50 $/mt c&f from Australia;
  • 1 consignment at 202.50 $/mt c&f from Australia

- Nov 4 - South Korea's CJ Cheiljedang Corp bought a total of 50,800 MT of Australian wheat for Mar 16-Apr 15 shipment:

  • 42,200 MT of standard white (ASW) 10.3-11% protein at 213 $/mt fob;
  • 5,500 MT of hard wheat min 11.5% protein at 223 $/mt fob;
  • 3,100 MT of premium wheat min 10.5% protein at 205 $/mt fob

- Nov 4 - Argentina grants export licenses for 10,000 MT of low protein wheat

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 13.134 MMT of grain between July 1-Nov 2, 2016/17, including:

  • wheat – 10.606 MMT;
  • barley – 1.431 MMT;
  • corn – 1.028 MMT;
  • others – 69 TMT

- Russia has 3,490,600 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of November 3 vs. 1,831,900 MT a year ago

- Brazil's poultry and pork industries are opting for quality wheat as a cheaper substitute for dearly priced corn. Safras & Mercado said that new-crop wheat is trading at 580 BRL/mt (178.5 $/mt) in Rio Grande do Sul state, while corn is at 733 BRL/mt (225.5 $/mt). One year ago, it was nearly reversed: with wheat at 700 BRL/mt and corn at 580 BRL/mt

- Algeria's grain imports were 10.01 MMT in the first nine months of 2016, up 0.84% from the same period a year earlier. Soft wheat purchases fell 7.7% to 4.57 MMT, while durum wheat imports rose 16.3% to 1.42 MMT

- France's farm ministry raised its estimate of the country's 2016 soft wheat crop to 28.15 MMT from 28.04 MMT forecasted in October with yields at 5.38 mt/ha, down 31.2% from last year (40.91 MMT and 7.93 mt/ha in 2015) and 23.8% below the five-year average

CORN

- Nov 4 - Argentina grants export licenses for 61,470 MT of corn

- Egypt's government plans to buy local corn in the 2017 season at a set price of 2,500 EGP/mt, up from 2,100 EGP/mt in 2016

- Algeria's Jan-Sept 2016 maize imports were 3.25 MMT, up 3.5% from the same period a year earlier

- Algeria's Jan-Sept 2016 barley imports rose by 25% to 767,734 MT

- France's farm ministry lowered its estimate of the country's 2016 grain maize crop to 12.3 MMT from 12.59 MMT forecasted in October with yields lowered to 8.35 from 8.51 mt/ha earlier, down 8.8% from last year (13.49 MMT and 8.61 mt/ha in 2015) and 20.2% below the five-year average

- France's farm ministry left the country's 2016 barley production estimate at 10.02 MMT unchanged from last month, down 23.1% from last year (13.03 MMT in 2015) and 9.2% below five-year average. - Safras & Mercado said Brazilian soybean crop was 52.5% planted as of Nov 4 vs. 38.4% a week ago vs. 42.3% a year ago and vs. 48.7% five-year average

- Oil World said that Canadian canola crushings are on track to reach a record level in 2016/17 and are now estimated to have exceeded 800,000 MT for the first time in October

- Oil World said sunflower oil exports from Russia and Ukraine reached a record 6.2 MMT in 2015/16 Oct-Sept, up 1.1 MMT from a year earlier

- USDA attaché projects Pakistan's 2016/17 soybean imports at 1.8 MMT, more than USDA's official estimate of 1.75 MMT and compared to 1.1 MMT in 2015/16
