- Nov 2 - South Korea's CJ Cheiljedang Corp bought 53,350 MT of US wheat from CHS for Mar-Apr shipment:

  • 21,300 MT of western/soft white, max 10.5% protein, at 184.73 $/mt fob;
  • 2,150 MT of western/soft white, max 8.5% protein, at 195.69 $/mt fob;
  • 8,900 MT of hard red winter, min 11.5% protein, at 195.30 $/mt fob;
  • 2,000 MT of hard red winter, min 11.0% protein, at 190.91 $/mt fob;
  • 19,000 MT of (dark) northern spring, min 14% protein, at 234.02 $/mt fob

- Argentina in October granted export licenses for 793,718 MT of low protein wheat and milling wheat; and 52,922 MT of wheat flour

- Nov 2 - Russia bought 22,410 MT of intervention grain (21,060 MT of wheat and 1,350 MT of barley) via tender on the NTB (National Trade Exchange, Moscow Exchange). Making the total bought since Sep 19 at 623,025 MT of 2016/17 grain (582,120 MT of wheat and 40,905 MT of barley)

- Russian farmers harvested 75.8 MMT of wheat from 98.1% of the planned area as of Nov 1, up from 63.84 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.79 mt/ha up from 2.51 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have planted 16.89 million hectares (97.3% of the planned area) of winter crops as of Nov 1 vs. 15.76 mln ha a year ago

CORN

- Nov 2 - South Korea's Korea Corn Processing Industry Association (KOCOPIA) bought 55,000 MT of US yellow corn from Posco Daewoo at 192.2 $/mt c&f including surcharge for additional port unloading for Feb 15 arrival

- Nov 2 - South Korea's MFG bought 63,000 MT of optional-origin corn from CHS at 186.75 $/mt c&f+1.25 $/mt surcharge for additional port unloading for Feb 28 arrival

- Nov 1 - USDA announced export sales of 212,344 MT of US corn for delivery to Mexico during 2016/17

- Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) has qualified 24 global suppliers from which it will source feed barley through tenders

- Brazil's Trade Ministry reported October corn exports at 1.102 MMT, down from 2.913 MMT in September and well below than 5.548 MMT in the year ago month

SOYBEAN

- USDA estimated US September soybean crush for crude oil at 4.148 million short tons (138.3 mln bu), above the average market expectation (4.105 mln tons, or 136.8 mln bu) and up from 4.037 mln tons a year ago. Crude soyoil stocks fell to 1.417 billion lbs as of September 30 from 1.667 in August, below the 1.516 bln lbs a year ago, while refined oil stocks were at 300,388 million lbs as of Sept 30 vs. 319,212 in August and 338,433 in Sept 2015. September US soy cake and meal stocks fell to 233,715 tons from 247,799 in August and 240,755 tons a year-ago

- FCStone raised its US soybean yield forecast by 0.3 bpa from last month to a record 52.8 bpa for a crop of 4.386 billion bushels/119.37 MMT (4.357 bln bu in Oct)

- FCStone trimmed its forecast for Brazil's 2016/17 soy crop to 101.83 MMT from 101.85 MMT last month (95.44 MMT in 2015/16)

- Brazil's Trade Ministry reported October soybean exports at 998,192 MT, down from 1.443 MMT in September and from 2.594 MMT a year ago. Also Brazil exported 724,671 MT of soymeal in October versus 915,317 MT the month before and 1.399 MMT a year ago; and 9,792 MT of soyoil compared to 141,601 MT in September and 147,026 MT a year ago

- Argentina in October issued a total of 106,337 MT of soybean export licenses; 2.684 MMT of soymeal licenses and 427,146 MT of soybean oil licenses

- Argentina in October granted export licenses for 9,955 MT of sunflower oil and 14,900 MT of sunflower meal
