- Oct 18 - Argentina grants export licenses for 25,000 MT of milling wheat and 35,000 MT of low protein wheat

- Oct 19 - Russia bought 36,180 MT of intervention grain (31,725 MT of wheat and 4,455 MT of barley) via tender on the NTB (National Trade Exchange, Moscow Exchange). Making the total bought since Sep 19 at 484,380 MT of 2016/17 grain (446,175 MT of wheat and 38,205 MT of barley)

- Russian farmers harvested 75.65 MMT of wheat from 97.9% of the planned area as of Oct 18, up from 63.57 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.79 mt/ha up from 2.51 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have planted 15.65 million hectares (90.2% of the planned area) of winter crops as of October 18 vs. 15.07 mln ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have planted 4.894 million hectares of winter wheat (78.9% of plan) as of Oct 18 down from 5.08 mln ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 23.47 MMT of all grains from 99.6% of the planned area as of Oct 19, up from 17.87 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.53 mt/ha up from 1.27 mt/ha a year ago

CORN

- Oct 18 - Argentina grants export licenses for 25,250 MT of barley

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his forecast of South America's 2016/17 corn crop unchanged this week at 122.3 MMT compared to 97.2 MMT in 2015/16

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier adopted USDA's harvested acreage figure for US corn of 86.8 million acres and left his yield projection unchanged at 172 bpa, resulting in a 14.93-billion-bu crop (14.87 billion bu last week)

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 9.854 MMT of maize from 41.3% of the planned area as of Oct 18, down from 12.88 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 5.63 mt/ha up from 5.12 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers have planted 386,300 hectares of winter barley (37.6% of plan) as of Oct 18 vs. 524,800 ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 19.03 MMT of barley from 96.9% of the planned area as of Oct 18, up from 18.15 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.35 mt/ha up from 2.23 mt/ha a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Oct 18 - USDA announced export sales of 706,500 MT of US soybeans for delivery to China during 2016/17

- Oct 18 - Argentina grants export licenses for 115,000 MT of soybean oil and 75,180 MT of soymeal

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his forecast of South America's 2016/17 soybean crop unchanged this week at 174.2 MMT compared to 165.5 MMT in 2015/16

- Indonesia has raised its target for funds collection in 2017 for its biodiesel subsidy programme by nearly 14% from this year on the expectation of higher palm oil exports
