The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, Oct 13, bought 120,000 MT of Romanian wheat and 60,000 MT of Russian wheat for November 11-20 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at 186.99 $/mt c&f (177.94 $/mt fob+9.05 $/mt freight);
  • 120,000 MT of Romanian wheat from Ameropa at 187.00 $/mt c&f (180.5 $/mt fob+6.5 $/mt freight)

It was the 12-th international tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 1.5 MMT (1.08 MMT from Russia, 360 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2016/17.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Louis Dreyfus:
    • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 177.94 $/mt fob
    • 55,000 MT of United States HRW at 173.98 $/mt fob was disqualified
  • ADM:
    • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 179.99 $/mt fob
    • 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 182.19 $/mt fob
  • Ameropa:
    • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 181.00 $/mt fob
    • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 182.00 $/mt fob
    • 60,000 MT of United States HRW at 183.75 $/mt fob was disqualified
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 182.50 $/mt fob

The best offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 177.94+9.09=187.03 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 181.00+6.50=187.50 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 179.99+8.38=188.37 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 182.00+6.50=188.50 $/mt c&f
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 182.50+8.90=191.40 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 182.19+9.96=192.15 $/mt c&f
