- Traders have bought around 400,000 MT of Ukrainian wheat, 11.5% protein, at about 192-199 $/mt c&f to supply to Indian mills in October and November, after India cut import duties two weeks ago

- Oct 6 - Argentina grants export licenses for 390,915 MT of corn

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange raised its estimate for Argentina's 2015/16 corn acreage and production to 3.85 mln ha and 30 MMT (3.6 mln ha and 28 MMT previously); also raised forecast for 2016/17 corn acreage to 4.9 mln ha from 4.5 mln ha previously. Exchange estimates 25.7% of the crop has been planted as of Oct 6

- Oct 6 - Brazil's biosafety commission CTNBio approved imports of three genetically modified varieties of corn from the US for animal feed production

- Conab forecast Brazil's 2016/17 corn crop at 82.3-83.8 MMT, sharply higher than 66.7 MMT last season with second crop at 56.08 MMT (40.84 MMT in 2015/16). Conab expects Brazil to export 24 MMT of corn (20 MMT in 2015/16). Ending stocks are forecasted to recover to 9.536 MMT from 5.458 MT in 2015/16

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended Sept 29 of 2,601,800 MT, incl. 2,060,800 MT for 2016/17 (topped trade expectations of 1.1-1.4 MMT) and 541,000 MT for 2017/18 (within expectations of 500-700 TMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 87% ahead of year-ago

- Conab forecasts Brazil's 2016/17 soy output at 101.9-104 MMT compared to a drought-hit previous crop of 95.4 MMT. Conab expects Brazil to export 57 MMT of soybeans (54.1 MMT in 2015/16). Ending stocks are forecasted to recover to 1.453 MMT from 460,300 MT in 2015/16

- Oct 6 - WTO upheld Argentina's complaint against EU duties on biodiesel in an appeal ruling

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange raised its estimate Argentina's 2016/17 sunseed acreage by 0.1 mln ha to 1.7 mln ha (1.22 mln ha in 2015/16). Exchange estimates 33.9% of the crop has been planted as of Oct 6 vs. 25.7% this time last year
