The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Tuesday, Oct 4, bought 240,000 MT of Russian wheat for November 1-10 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Union at 186.32 $/mt c&f (177.77 $/mt fob+8.55 $/mt freight);
  • 120,000 MT of Russian wheat from ADM at 187.50 $/mt c&f (178.95 $/mt fob+8.55 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Alegrow at 187.50 $/mt c&f (178.95 $/mt fob+8.55 $/mt freight)

It was the 11-th international tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 1.32 MMT (1.02 MMT from Russia, 240 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2016/17.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Union: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 177.77 $/mt fob
  • ADM:
    • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.50 $/mt fob
    • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 180.50 $/mt fob
    • 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 180.99 $/mt fob
  • Alegrow: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.50 $/mt fob
  • Venus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 181.45 $/mt fob
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 181.74 $/mt fob
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 183.50 $/mt fob
  • Ameropa: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 192.33 $/mt fob

The best offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Union: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 177.77+8.60=186.37 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.50+8.60=188.10 $/mt c&f
  • Alegrow: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.50+8.60=188.10 $/mt c&f
  • Venus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 181.45+6.75=188.20 $/mt c&f
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 180.50+8.60=189.10 $/mt c&f
