WHEAT

- Syria's Hoboob is still in talks about a tender to buy 1 MMT of Russian-origin wheat and postponed again the tender, now until Sept 29

- Sept 28 - Jordan seeks 100,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat

- Indian importers in past days purchased around 25,000 MT of Australian-origin wheat at around 210 $/mt c&f for December shipment

- India has cut the import tax on wheat to 10% from 25%

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 7.83 MMT of grain between July 1-Sept 21, 2016/17, down by 9% from 8.582 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 6.588 MMT;
  • barley – 1.075 MMT;
  • corn – 136 TMT;
  • others – 33 TMT

- Sovecon expects that Russia will increase grain exports to 3.9-4.3 MMT in September from 3.6 MMT in August

- Coceral lowered its EU's 2016 corn production forecast to 60.5 MMT from 62.4 MMT in June, but up 4.2% from 58.1 MMT in 2015

- Romania's corn harvest this autumn may be lower than earlier expected at 8.75 MMT, down 2.6% from last year

- Sept 26 - USDA announced export sales of 240,000 MT of US soybeans to unknown destinations for delivery during 2016/17

- Coceral cut its forecast for EU's 2016 rapeseed harvest to 19.94 MMT, down 2.08 MMT from June forecast and below than the 22.38 MMT last season

- Coceral lowered its projection for 2016 EU sunflower seed crop to 8.1 MMT from 8.64 MMT in June, but up 5.8% from 7.65 MMT in 2015

- Coceral trimmed its projection for 2016 EU soybean crop to 2.43 MMT from 2.45 MMT in June, up 17% from 2.07 MMT in 2015
