The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Thursday, Sept 22, bought 240,000 MT of Russian wheat for October 21-31 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Aston at 186.8 $/mt c&f (179 $/mt fob+7.8 $/mt freight);
  • 180,000 MT of Russian wheat from Union at 187.11 $/mt c&f (178.78 $/mt fob+8.33 $/mt freight)

It was the tenth international tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 1.08 MMT (780 TMT from Russia, 240 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2016/17.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Union: three cargoes each of 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 178.78 $/mt fob
  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179 $/mt fob
  • Olam: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.79 $/mt fob
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189 $/mt fob

Offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Aston: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179+7.80=186.80 $/mt c&f
  • Union: 3x60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 178.78+8.43=187.21 $/mt c&f
  • Olam: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 187.79+8.98=196.77 $/mt c&f
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 189+8.98=197.98 $/mt c&f
