WHEAT

- Sept 16 - Egypt's GASC seeks an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for Oct 15-25 shipment

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended Sept 8 totalled 395,200 MT, incl. 402,200 MT for 2016/17 (within trade expectations of 350-550 TMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 21% ahead of year-ago

- EU in week ended Sept 13 granted licenses to export 371 TMT of soft wheat, bringing the total this season to 5.434 MMT vs. 4.216 MMT a year ago

- Strategie Grains cut its EU soft wheat production estimate to 136.5 MMT, down 1.4 MMT from its prior forecast and now 10% lower than last year's record crop. Only about 59% of this year's EU soft wheat crop is estimated as milling grade, down from 66% forecasted last month and 71% last year. Strategie Grains lowered its 2016/17 EU soft wheat export forecast by 1 MMT to 23.7 MMT t, now 8 MMT below the 2015/16 level

CORN

- Buenos Aires Grains Exchange maintains its estimate for 2015/16 Argentine corn crop at 28 MMT (28.2 MMT in 2014/15). Harvesting of Argentine soybean crop was 100% completed as of Sept 15

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended Sept 8 of 724,600 MT, incl. 703,500 MT for 2016/17 (below trade expectations of 800-1100 TMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 83% ahead of year-ago

- EU in week ended Sept 9 awarded licenses to import 16,050 MT of Ukrainian barley under an annual duty-free quota, bringing the total to 243,675 MT or 97.47% out of a total volume of 250,000 MT available in 2016

- EU in week ended Sept 13 awarded 175 TMT of corn (maize) import certificates, taking the volume so far this season to 1.687 MMT vs. 1.427 MMT a year ago

- EU in week ended Sept 13 granted licenses to export 68 TMT of corn, bringing the total this season to 409 TMT vs. 357 TMT a year ago

- Strategie Grains cut its 2016 EU corn crop forecast to 59.3 MMT from the previous 60.6 MMT but that is still 4% higher than last year's crop

- Strategie Grains trimmed its 2016 EU barley production forecast to 60.0 MMT from last month's 60.6 MMT, now 2% below last year's crop

SOYBEAN

- Sept 15 - Argentina grants export licenses for 71,590 MT of soymeal

- Sept 15 - USDA announced export sales of 110,000 MT of US soybeans to unknown destinations for delivery during 2016/17

- Weekly US soybean export sales data for week ended Sept 8 of 1,012,100 MT, incl. 1,018,600 MT for 2016/17 (in line with trade expectations of 0.9-1.2 MMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 39% ahead of year-ago

- NOPA said its members crushed 131.822 million bushels of soybeans during August, which fell below expectations (136.233 million bu – avg., 128-142.2 mln bu – range) and lower than a year earlier. NOPA processors crashed 143.715 mln bu in July and 135.304 mln bu a year ago. Soyoil stocks fell to 1.62 billion lbs as of August 31 from 1.743 a month earlier, but above expectations of 1.606 billion lbs and last year's level of 1.48 billion lbs. Soymeal exports decreased to 574,802 tons from 579,417 tons in July but above 491,510 tons a year ago

- Buenos Aires Grain Exchange expects Argentina's 2016/17 sunseed acreage at 1.6 mln ha (1.22 mln ha in 2015/16). Exchange estimates 28.9% of the crop has been planted as of Sept 15 vs. 21.5% this time last year
