WHEAT

- Sept 7 - Algeria's OAIC seeks at least 50,000 MT of optional-origin soft milling wheat for Oct shipment

- Sept 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 75,000 MT of milling wheat and low protein wheat

- Egypt's health ministry will no longer accept even trace levels of ergot in imported wheat shipments

- Russia's Ag Min said Russia exported about 5.366 MMT of grain between July 1-August 31, 2016/17, down by 7.2% from 5.781 MMT a year ago, including:

  • wheat – 4.494 MMT (4.349 MMT a year ago);
  • barley – 797 TMT (1.213 MMT);
  • corn – 43 TMT (184 TMT);
  • others – 32 TMT (35 TMT)

- Russia has 3,246,900 MT of grain in its federal intervention fund as of September 2

- Kazakh farmers harvested 9.21 MMT of all grains as of Sept 5, up from 3.57 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.5 mt/ha up from 1.2 mt/ha a year ago

CORN

- Sept 22 - Jordan seeks 100,000 MT of optional origin feed barley

- Sept 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 91,095 MT of corn

- FCStone raised its US corn yield peg by 0.6 bpa from last month to 175.6 bpa for a crop of 15.195 billion bushels

- Informa Economics raised its US corn yield forecast by 5 bpa from last month to 174.8 bpa for a crop of 15.3 billion bushels

- Brazil's National Technical Commission for Biosafety (CTNBio) approved planting and consumption of Monsanto's corn seed with insect resistance, glyphosate tolerance. CTNBio is still considering approval of two more GMO corn seeds from Syngenta and Monsanto for consumption. Those decisions will be made on Oct 1

- China's top grain province is offering farmers subsidies of 150 yuan ($22.5) per mu (0.067 hectares) to rotate corn with soybeans, as it seeks to cut corn output amid huge oversupply

SOYBEAN

- Indian importers recently bought around 25,000 MT of Black Sea high protein sunflower meal pellets at around 255 $/mt c&f for Sept-Oct shipment

- Pakistan recently bought about 66,000 MT of US soybeans for Nov-Dec shipment

- Sept 2 - Argentina grants export licenses for 15,000 MT of soybeans and 68,500 MT of soymeal

- FCStone raised its US soybean yield forecast by 1.3 bpa from last month to 50.1 bpa for a crop of 4.163 billion bushels

- Informa Economics raised its US soybean yield peg by 1.8 bpa from last month to 49.5 bpa for a crop of 4.127 billion bushels

- Strategie Grains cut its 2016 EU rapeseed crop estimate to 20.03 MMT down 640,000 MT from previous and down 8.7% from the 2015 harvest (21.95 MMT)

- Strategie Grains lowered its 2016 EU sunflower crop estimate to 8.21 MMT from previous estimate of 8.35 MMT, but up 8.2% from the 2015 harvest (7.59 MMT)

- Strategie Grains trimmed its 2016 EU soybean crop forecast to 2.3 MMT down 100,000 MT from previous but up 0.8% on year (2.28 MMT in 2015)
