The Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) on Friday, August 26, bought 180,000 MT of Russian wheat for September 26-October 5 delivery:

  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Union at 185.15 $/mt c&f (177.35 $/mt fob+7.8 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Union at 185.15 $/mt c&f (177.35 $/mt fob+7.8 $/mt freight)
  • 60,000 MT of Russian wheat from Daewoo at 186.25 $/mt c&f (178.45 $/mt fob+7.8 $/mt freight)

It was the sixth international tender since the start of the new fiscal year. GASC has bought 840 TMT (540 TMT from Russia, 240 TMT from Romania and 60 TMT from Ukraine) of wheat on the international market since July 1, the start of the 2016/17.

Traders said the following offers were submitted to GASC in the first round of the tender (USD/MT, FOB):

  • Union: two cargoes each of 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 177.70 $/mt fob
  • Nidera: 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.70 $/mt fob
  • Alegrow: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 180.88 $/mt fob
  • Ameropa: two cargoes each of 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 180.11 $/mt fob
  • Daewoo: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 178.60 $/mt fob
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 179.94 $/mt fob
  • ADM: 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 208.89 $/mt fob

Best offers on C&F basis in the first round of the tender was as follows (USD/MT, C&F):

  • Union: 2 cargoes of Russian wheat each of 60,000 MT at 177.70+7.89=185.59 $/mt c&f
  • Daewoo: 60,000 MT of Russian wheat at 178.60+7.89=186.49 $/mt c&f
  • Nidera: 55,000 MT of Russian wheat at 179.70+7=186.70 $/mt c&f
  • Ameropa: 2 cargoes each of 60,000 MT of Romanian wheat at 180.11+7=187.11 $/mt c&f
  • Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 MT of Ukraine wheat at 179.94+8.25=188.19 $/mt c&f
