WHEAT

- Aug 24 - Syria's state buyer (Hoboob) postponed a tender for 1 MMT of Russian wheat until Sept 8

- Aug 24 - Argentina grants export licenses for 10,000 MT of wheat

- Aug 24 - China auctioned 2,535 MT of 2013 imported US #2 soft red winter wheat from state reserves, or 7.3% of the offered amount (34,497 MT), at an average price of 2,534 RMB/mt (381 $/mt)

- Rusagrotrans expects Russia to increase grain exports to 3.7-3.8 MMT in September from 3.5 MMT in August, but it's lower than 4.18 MMT in Sept 2015 and 4.2 MMT in Aug 2015

- Russian farmers harvested 58.87 MMT of wheat from 62.6% of the planned area as of August 24, up from 45.68 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.4 mt/ha up from 3.13 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers have planted 1.02 million hectares (5.9% of the planned area) of winter crops as of August 24 down vs. 1.26 mln. ha a year ago

CORN

- Aug 25 - China sold 503,212 MT of 2013 corn from state reserves, or 15.8% of the offered amount (3,184,549 MT), at average price of 1,591 RMB/mt (239 $/mt)

- Aug 24 - USDA announced export sales of 101,600 MT of US corn to unknown destinations for delivery during 2016/17

- Aug 31 - Jordan seeks 100,000 MT of optional origin feed barley

- Aug 24 - Jordan cancelled tender to buy 100,000 MT of optional origin feed barley

- According to Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour, an average corn yield in Illinois is expected at 193.50 bu. per acre compared to 171.64 bpa last year and 3-year tour avg. of 179.69 bpa. Meanwhile it's lower than USDA's forecast of 200 bpa (175 bpa in 2015)

- US Ethanol production for the week ended August 19 decreased by 1,000 barrels to 1,028,000 barrels per day, up 8% from last year's level of 952,000 bpd. Stocks climbed by 392,000 barrels from the week prior to 20.817 million barrels, up 11.8% vs. 18.628 million barrels a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 15.22 MMT of barley from 73% of the planned area as of August 24, up from 12.72 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.5 mt/ha up from 2.42 mt/ha a year ago

OILS

- Iran bought 60,000 MT of Black Sea sunflower oil

- Russian farmers started harvesting of sunflower seed. As of August 24 was harvested 36,600 MT from 0.3% of the planned area, up from 13.6 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.84 mt/ha up from 1.55 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 259,100 MT of rapeseed from 16.8% of the planned area as of August 24, down from 389,900 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.55 mt/ha down from 1.87 mt/ha a year ago

- Surveyor Intertek Testing Services estimated Malaysia's August 1-25 palm oil exports at 1,317,234 MT up 31.1% from a month ago
