French farmers harvested 99% of the durum as of August 1 vs. 92% a week ago and 100% a year ago. They also harvested 62% of the soft wheat vs. 41% a week ago and 82% a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 41.87 MMT of wheat from 30.9% of the planned area as of August 4, up from 35.44 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.94 mt/ha up from 3.42 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 1.33 MMT of all grains as of August 5, up from 1.08 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.19 mt/ha up from 1.73 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 23.89 MMT of wheat from 92% of the planned area as of August 4. Yields totalled 4.19 mt/ha up from 3.75 mt/ha a year ago

CORN

- France's farm ministry lowered the country's 2016 barley production estimate to 10.24 MMT from 11.72 MMT in July, down 21.4% from last year (13.03 MMT in 2015) and 7.3% below five-year average. French winter barley crop is expected at 7.83 MMT (9.14 MMT forecasted in July and 10 MMT in 2015), while spring crop may fall to 2.41 MMT (2.58 MMT forecasted in July and 3.02 MMT in 2015)

- Aug 5 - China sold 101,726 MT of soybean from state reserves, or 16.9% of the offered amount (602,270 MT), including 9,689 MT of soybeans produced in 2012 at an average price of 3,190 RMB/mt (480 $/mt), and 92,037 MT of soybeans produced in 2013 at an average price of 3,342 RMB/mt (503 $/mt)

- Aug 4 - USDA announced export sales of 252,000 MT of US soybeans to China for delivery during 2016/17

- Aug 4 - Argentina grants export licenses for 45,000 MT of soybean oil; 7,500 MT of soybeans and and 5,180 MT of soymeal
