- Jul 27 - Jordan seeks 100,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat

- Jul 21 - Tunisia bought 117,000 MT of soft milling wheat from Invivo at 178.89 and 181.84 $/mt c&f and Louis Dreyfus at 177.74 $/mt c&f and 109,000 MT of durum from Europmarkets, Casillo and Glencore at between 257.99-262.69 $/mt c&f for Oct-Dec shipment

- Jul 21 - Japan bought 165,048 MT of food wheat for August 21-September 20 shipment:

  • 54,908 MT of western white US wheat;
  • 44,565 MT of hard red winter US wheat;
  • 35,890 MT of Canadian western red spring wheat;
  • 29,685 MT of Australian standard white wheat for November shipment

- Indonesian flour millers in recent deals bought two cargoes of Australian prime wheat, 10.5% protein, at 207-210 $/mt fob for Sept shipment

- Thai feed makers bought 65,000 MT of optional origin feed wheat at 180-181 $/mt c&f for Feb-March 2017 shipment

- Philippines is expected to buy about 50,000 to 60,000 MT of feed wheat this week

- Algeria's OAIC bought 520,000-600,000 MT of optional-origin milling wheat in a tender last week, more than the volume previously reported, at around 198 $/mt c&f for Sept-Oct shipment

- Weekly US wheat export sales data for week ended July 14 totalled 478,000 MT for 2016/17 (within trade expectations of 350-550 TMT). Export commitments for 2016/17 are running 32% ahead of year-ago

- EU in week ended July 19 granted licenses to export 826 TMT of soft wheat, bringing the total this season to 1.814 MMT vs. 1.262 MMT a year ago

- IKAR raised its forecast of Russia's 2016 wheat crop by 2 MMT to 68 MMT

- Russian farmers harvested 26.67 MMT of wheat from 22.9% of the planned area as of July 21, up from 19.16 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 4.22 mt/ha up from 3.78 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 13 MMT of wheat from 54% of the planned area as of July 21, up from 10.3 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.87 mt/ha up from 3.47 mt/ha a year ago

- Kazakh farmers harvested 583,200 MT of all grains as of July 21, up from 453,400 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.11 mt/ha up from 1.65 mt/ha a year ago

- China's June wheat imports up 11.3% on year to 477,554 MT. China's Jan-Jun wheat imports rose 27.3% on year to 1.775 MMT

CORN

- Jul 21 - Tunisia bought 75,000 MT of feed barley from ADM at 164.39 and 165.21 $/mt c&f and Nidera at 165.81 $/mt c&f for Oct-Nov shipment

- Jul 20 - Argentina grants export licenses for 24,945 MT of corn

- Weekly US corn export sales data for week ended July 14 of 851,400 MT, incl. 345,100 MT for 2015/16 (below trade expectations of 400-600 TMT) and 506,300 MT for 2016/17 (within trade forecasts of 500-700 TMT). Total current marketing-year US corn export sales are 3% ahead the same point last year

- EU in week ended July 15 awarded licenses to import 86,340 MT of Ukrainian barley under an annual duty-free quota, bringing the total to 198,132 MT or 79.25% out of a total volume of 250,000 MT available in 2016

- EU in week ended July 19 awarded 138 TMT of corn (maize) import certificates, taking the volume so far this season to 509 TMT vs. 534 TMT a year ago

- EU in week ended July 19 granted licenses to export 38 TMT of corn, bringing the total this season to 87 TMT vs. 95 TMT a year ago

- EU in week ended July 19 granted licenses to export 191 TMT of barley, bringing the total this season to 618 TMT vs. 1.176 MMT a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 3.47 MMT of barley from 11.2% of the planned area as of July 21, up from 2.73 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.66 mt/ha down from 3.48 mt/ha a year ago

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 6.6 MT of barley from 71% of the planned area as of July 21, up from 4.8 MMT a year ago. Yields totalled 3.26 mt/ha up from 2.89 mt/ha a year ago

- China imported 66,942 MT of corn last month, down 92.3% from the year-ago level. For the first half of the year, China has imported 2.904 MMT of corn, up 9.6% from year-ago

- China imported 235,592 MT of distillers' dried grains (DDGS) in June, up 19.6% from May but down 75.5% from a year-ago. China's Jan-Jun DDGs imports fell 36.9% on year to 1.54 MMT

- China imported 111,651 cubic meters of ethanol in June, up nearly 441% from last year, but down 57.6% from May's record imports. Chinese ethanol imports are expected to decline further in the coming months as domestic processors are buying old corn supplies from government reserves to use for ethanol production

- China's June barley imports fell 50.6% on year to 481,703 MT. China's Jan-Jun barley imports dropped 59.2% on year to 2.19 MMT

- US Ethanol production for the week ended July 15 rose by 25,000 barrels to a record of 1,029,000 barrels per day, up 5.8% from last year's level of 973,000 bpd. Stocks climbed by 26,000 barrels from the week prior to 21.157 million barrels, up 8.2% vs. 19.559 million barrels a year ago

SOYBEAN

- Jul 21 - South Korea bought 20,000 MT of non-GM soybeans – 12,000 MT of US origin at 508.04-539.6 $/mt c&f and 8,000 MT of Canadian origin at 497.5-549.88 $/mt c&f

- Pakistan recently bought total of 330,000 MT of Brazil soybeans for Feb-May shipment

- Pakistani importers recently bought 30,000 MT of Canadian canola at 415-419 $/mt c&f for November and 423 $/mt c&f for December shipment

- Weekly US soybean export sales data for week ended July 14 of 1,326,600 MT, incl. 325,000 MT for 2015/16 (within trade expectations of 300-500 TMT) and 1,001,600 MT for 2016/17 (topped trade expectations of 500-700 TMT). Total current marketing-year US soybean export sales are running 3% ahead the same point last year

- Ukrainian farmers harvested 805,000 MT of rapeseed from 68% of the planned area as of July 21, down from 977,000 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 2.58 mt/ha up from 2.36 mt/ha a year ago

- Russian farmers harvested 97,900 MT of rapeseed from 5% of the planned area as of July 21, down from 130,400 MT a year ago. Yields totalled 1.95 mt/ha up from 1.53 mt/ha a year ago

- China imported 7.564 MMT of soybeans during June down 5.9% from year-ago. China's Jan-Jun soybean imports up 9.8% on year to 38.565 MMT

- China's June soy oil imports fell 52.7% from year-ago levels to 43,187 MT. China's Jan-Jun soy oil imports rose 23.5% on year to 187,347 MT

- China's June rapeseed imports down 51% on year to 263,661 MT. China's Jan-Jun rapeseed imports fell 14.9% on year to 1.994 MMT

- China's June rapeseed oil imports fell by 91% on year to 10,978 MT, mainly from Canada. China's Jan-Jun rapeseed oil imports decreased 7.3% on year to 394,811 MT

- China's June rapeseed meal imports up by 428.3% on year to 52,423 MT. China's Jan-Jun rapeseed meal imports rose 150.1% on year to 161,967 MT
