- Jul 20 - South Korea's CJ Cheiljedang Corp, DongAOne Co Ltd, Daehan Flour Mill Co Ltd and SamHwa bought 48,750 MT of US wheat from ADM for Dec 10-Jan 10 shipment:

  • 14,900 MT of soft white, 10.5% protein, at 203.98 $/mt fob
  • 3,500 MT of soft white, 8.5% protein, at 212.39 $/mt fob
  • 7,550 MT of hard red winter at 199.78 $/mt fob
  • 22,800 MT of northern spring at 234.18 $/mt fob

- Jul 20 - Jordan cancelled tender to buy 100,000 MT of optional origin hard milling wheat

- Jul 20 - Japan received no offers for 120,000 MT of feed wheat and 200,000 MT of feed barley in a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction. New SBS tender for the same amounts for each grain will be held on July 27

- Jul 18 - Syria's Hoboob bought 200,000 MT of soft milling wheat, likely Russian, at 164.31 EUR/mt (180.5 $/mt) c&f for Aug-Sept shipment

- USDA attaché projects Australia's 2016/17 wheat crop at 26.0 MMT, up from USDA's official projection of 25.5 MMT and up from 24.5 MMT in 2015/16

- Agritel expects Germany's wheat harvest at 26.03 MMT this season, 1.9% lower than last year

- Ukrainian grain stocks were at 7.033 MMT as of July 1, down 10.6% from a year earlier, incl. 3.014 MMT of wheat (3.162 MMT a year ago), 1.513 MMT of barley (1.462 MMT a year ago) and 2.179 MMT of corn (2.869 MMT a year ago). The data does not include grain stored at small farms

CORN

- Jul 21 - Tunisia seeks 100,000 MT of optional origin feed barley for Oct-Nov shipment

- South Korea's Major Feedmill Group (MFG) bought 70,000 MT of optional origin yellow corn at 190.5 $/mt c&f for Dec 15 arrival

- South Korea's KOCOPIA bought 55,000 MT of optional origin corn at 198.87 $/mt c&f for Nov 8 arrival

- Jul 19 - Argentina grants export licenses for 35,112 MT of corn and 5,000 MT of barley

- Jul 19 - China sold just 15,516 MT out of the 1.966 MMT of reserved corn produced between 2012 and 2013 offered at auction. China will offer another 6 MMT of corn for sale in auctions July 21-22

- Dr. Michael Cordonnier left his projection for US 2016 corn crop unchanged from prior week at 14.35-billion bu

- Corn exports from Argentina could be slowed in the days ahead if farmers and striking truck drivers fail to reach a deal on hauling rates

- Japan's use of corn in animal feed climbed to 46.6% in May, up 0.1% point from April (46.5%) and 1.1% points above year-ago levels (45.5% in May 2015). Its use of wheat rose to 1.7% from month ago at 1.6% and vs. 1.5% a year ago; while barley usage stayed at 3.4%, unchanged from prior month and year ago. Japan's sorghum usage in feed rations stood at 2.5% for May, down from April (2.6%) and down from the year prior (3.6% in May 2015)
